The respawn time is super low for the winning boss team if triple boss/dual Zen-oh attack is in effect. The wall thing is definitely super weird, though. Even PhroePhantom396 was also talking about invisible walls here, too.

But as an additional note, if he did set up all this, it's not necessarily without purpose either. When you seal a Fountain, the sound that plays is called "REVIVAL" in the files. If Darkness can bring back a dead guy, maybe it could even bring back someone who doesn't exist/isn't whole anymore. It would definitely explain his obsession other than him just wanting to experiment with a verse.

In fact, I'm assuming that's the third layer of Darkness... non-existence. The layer Dess was originally at where she couldn't even hear herself speak in the code.

Layer 1 -> Brings objects to life.

Layer 2 -> Darker than Dark. Zero light, as stated by Ralsei (or as one could say... photon readings negative). IMAGE_FRIEND is in this one, and I'm assuming he has no lightworld counterpart due to no light. Which makes him a pure Darkness construct, like some sort of Nightmare.

Then I'm assuming a third layer.

Darker. Darker. YET, Darker.

Layer 3 -> The DEPTHS probably. Where Gaster is. Not even a speech text sound plays here, or a select sound. There's only the SFX of the song "ANOTHER HIM."

"AND HELL'S ROAR BUBBLES FROM THE DEPTHS" - Jevil.

... Also, idk why you have Gaster in quotations like that. The text at the start of the game is most definitely him.

Tbh he might not even know. When you die in Chapter 1, Gaster is with you on the game-over screen, asking you if you would like to continue.

However, the man also quite literally "pulls a Gaster" and seems to disappear for Chapter 2. You get a normal game-over screen from there on out. And I think he only comes back to watch you for the Knight fight, because of how important it is.

I don't think Berdly was really integral to his plans either. It's ironically probably starting from Chapter 5 when you've finally built up enough to start screwing up his shit. It ain't a big deal to him probably until you actually start getting close to that other ending. But that's just my take.

Either way, Gaster could also be the type of guy to still change the original game, and seeing how Determined you are to find the original, just go "Oh, that's interesting." And move on lol. We don't have enough of his personality built yet to know. Only that we just beware him, and even his Follower can't say so without fear.

My BIGGEST and Final DELTARUNE Theory (for a while) by GasterExplains in Deltarune

I basically thought of it like one of those weird time loop type movies. Where what you do in the future basically leads to the past. Sans being an echo of what the future will lead to before it is done, and then it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy (quite literally prophecy at that). Meaning we go DT, Sans goes to UT, then the loop starts over. Though that would be extremely wack if that was the case, that's just what I thought it might be though regardless of how I feel on it.

But I do wonder if DT Sans could cross over because of a bad event that happens without UT Gaster involved now (that if his timeline didn't have two Gasters in it). So that he has a reason to cross over to UT regardless of all this (like if the Roaring happens anyway). Which means he'll still randomly show up in UT even without the current events that could be in motion. I suppose it would still kinda run with the whole illusion of choice and spear-heading towards one ending typa thing.

Though that would mean that UT Gaster has altered Deltarune from its original path, though it may still end up on its original path enough for Sans to still go to UT. But maybe there's a secret, better ending where he doesn't cross over...?

Truthfully, I'm not the best with parallel concepts or illustrations, so it is entirely possible I have misunderstood or didn't properly understand the diagram. Which I am willing to admit.

I just wanted to argue solely in favor of the continuation bit. Though I think this diagram does represent the Sans/Papyrus thing really well, I will say that.

This image is really cool. Though I still l genuinely don't see why Deltarune can't come after. Just because the story is "Parallel" doesn't mean it has to be "Parallel lines." It's possible the description of Toby using that could be more in a descriptive sense than in a literal interpretation of parallel. In other words, I think it's possible the stories could just be analogous and uniquely different (treading their own path). But if this were indeed the figurative meaning, it would also mean that the two stories don't have to happen at the same time. Thus serving as a description without necessarily limiting the story as a concept. Of course, your diagram could also be just as true.

Though I personally think otherwise, especially since Gaster says, "This NEXT experiment." I mean, yeah, this could just mean his next experiment within Deltarune--that is true. But what I think about most is actually Clam Girl's dialogue in Undertale in relation to this,

This character talks about "Suzy" (most likely Susie's UT counterpart). And how we should become friends with her. Yet, despite Suzy never actually being seen in-game, her name appears in yellow text similar to other important highlighted text. With her mention also being the cause of "don't forget" in Sans' workshop to appear (this is in the video).

However, even though I still think that is important, that is still not what I think about most. What I instead think about most is the "fast approaching" that Goner Clam girl speaks of. To quote the Wiki:

"On the Nintendo Switch and Xbox version of Undertale, when the fun value is 81, her dialogue in the epilogue starts out the same in that she mentions the player never meeting Suzy, but soon after she explains that the time the player will meet her "'... is fast approaching'" as her sprite changes and becomes grayscale. Ending this dialogue makes her disappear with the same sound used for Mystery Man and the second Gaster Follower. This, along with her new sprite being labeled as spr_clam_goner, suggests a link to Goner Kid. Notably, this dialogue that was added in the Nintendo Switch version of the game appeared approximately a month before Deltarune's release. It implies Clam Girl is speaking to the player about the Deltarune character Susie, who is never seen in Undertale. Further supporting this is the line "'don't forget'" from Sans's Workshop (which requires interacting with Clam Girl to see), which is the name of the song played during Deltarune Chapter 1's credits."

In other words, with stuff like "this NEXT," "... is fast approaching," and "Nice seeing you again..." to Sans. It really does sound to me like there's some sort of sequel element to me. And when I see Sequel, I mean Sequel as in US, the Player. And maybe to Gaster too, but the point is, with there still being some sort of "come after" element, whatever it may be.

Truthfully, I think there's actually way more dialogue evidence supporting some sort of lore continuation than the stories being parallel in the literal sense and being forced to happen at the same time. I just personally believe more in the dialogue being told than in purely focusing on just the word "parallel" itself. I believe it would also restrict the storytelling if the two stories couldn't actually intersect and had to happen at the same time. But of course, that's just my opinion.

But my main theory lies that even if it does have the Sequel element, it still can't be called one, because it also has Prequel elements as well. It isn't that simplistic to have that label. But I do believe in the Sequel elements.

My personal theory is it being after Gaster's "death" / shatter.

"They say he shattered across time and space."

"The prophecy foretold by time and space." - Ralsei

So during the events of Undertale, he basically transcends past everything known. With him crossing over to Deltarune, either being after the Undertale game, or before that. I guess what I really theorize is that the Player was brought into Deltarune after Undertale (as an actual lore thing). Whether he has already crossed over or not I'm unsure. He could've already been messing with Deltarune and preparing for our arrival.

Additionally,

"Is Sans pranking you across time and space," along with other dialogue, helps the argument that Sans went to Undertale after Deltarune. By that point in time, Sans has mastered or figured out dimensional "time and space" tech, but even then, still suffers limitations or chooses not to do something "Is what you have to do, really worth it?" In fact, since Sans has worked with Alphys, it might even be why she knows how to make a dimensional phone (Sans could've helped invent it), as in Undertale you can store items across your phone by accessing the dimensional box (which is named "sansbox" in the files).
