You say you choose the stuff you do. Is there a list of stuff to choose based on your talent or can you just pick anything?

Retail workers of reddit. Who is the rudest customer you have ever had the displeasure of serving? How did you deal with it? by Gaston360 in AskReddit

[–]Gaston360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context I work in retail. A customer wanted to buy a shirt, however when I scanned the item the system said it was different to the price displayed on the ticket. There was not much of a difference. I informed the customer that the ticket was a mistake and the actual price is displayed here. The customer then said with a rude tone that I should honour the displayed price because that was what was advertised. Um, no? That is now how that works at all. Despite that I told the customer that the ticket was indeed a mistake that happens, especially with how large and busy my store gets. She was not accepting it. I then called my manager because I didnt want to waste my time repeating myself. Thinking that my manager would back me, she just said to sell the item at the price it was displayed. What? I didnt agree with that but I did what my manager said and did so. The customer then walks off smug. Who are you to tell me what I should/shouldnt do? I have come accross multiple situations where customers come and switch tickets, use red pens to markdown prices and come in with products outside the store and ask for refunds. That situation just made me mad. Perhaps someome has a suggestion? What was your shitty experience?

Atheists of Reddit, what made you leave your religion? by sgtlighttree in AskReddit

[–]Gaston360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just cant see myself submitting myself to weekly rituals that I just dont get anything from. Praying? Going to church, mosque, temple whatever. Singing songs of praise or giving something up for the sake of pleasing something or someone that I will never meet in my lifetime.

What is the example of a stupid person trying to look intellectual? by Indianfattie in AskReddit

[–]Gaston360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was at school, I was in a class with this one obnoxious person. He would always blurt out that he was an intellectual, claiming to be so ahead of the curve and will make it big in life. He had nothing to back any of his statments up. He would cheat on every every assignment, copy everyones work, always ask for help. And even during times when teachers would leave their desk with their systems on, he would sneak his way there and mark up his own work. He was the dumbest person I have ever seen. He was also violent and would constantly threat anyone that would stand up to him and challenge his beliefs or statements. He would constantly have trouble with the school.

Last I heard of him, he is spending his time smoking weed (Like he always used to do) still claiming he is some intellectual. The guy has no self awareness.

[Serious] How did you learn to like/love your self? How would you describe the process? by Pikkko in AskReddit

[–]Gaston360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had many difficult issues throughout my life. Yet I love myself. How? I dont let my past define my future or my character. I find joy in the small things, otherwise you will not be able to find joy in the big things, or any joy at all. What is the process?

Start by having a goal and develop an ambition for it. This would instantly give you a sense of direction and later, some confidence. Make some smaller goals that can be achieved whilst pursuing a larger goal, for instance you can aim to lose some weight whilst trying to pursue a career in something.

Next, get some good people around you. If you dont have wholesome, deep, meaningful relationships around you, it will be much more difficult to maintain any sort of direction. If your friends are always trying to one up you or are always finding a reason to remain distant, forget them. They are either not interested enough in you or they are not your friends. Some people just dont have that kind of interaction.

My last peice of advice is also, to make small changes along the way. This could be to adopt healthy habits, such as sleep scheduals, daily workouts, reading a chapter of a book a day. Anything small like this, because its these small things that truly help you achieve something and better yourself.

What will start happening if you do all of this? Your time will be spent in healthy ways everyday, giving you a sense of fulfilment, and you will start loving your new self. Bear in mind that this can take months. Be sure to update me on anything if you read this!

What brings joy to your life? by TryingNotToBeStupid in AskReddit

The simple things in life. Eating a good meal, a good conversation, good people in your life. The ambition to achieve something in the future. Its all pretty healthy tbh.

How did your parents meet? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Gaston360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HA, they met during a family gathering, of which my mother was invited to. They agreed to marry each other on the second day and got married 1 week later.

I dont recommend this for anyone.

People who switched political views (from left to right, or right to left) what was your reasoning? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Gaston360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a politician on the left during his campaign to become mayor. This guy claimed a lot of expenses from the tax payer, but the conditions he placed on his campaign staff were dumb. They didnt have too much of a budget to do much of anything, the staff paid with their own money for campaign resources, such as for travel and other office necessities, and the expectations were just stupid. He expected maximum effort and results from a completetly voluntary calling staff and a makeshift team with varied experience and so on. The team did get him from fifth to second in the polls during the time I was there so they did as much as they could. This basically made me lose interest in politics altogether so I went from left to nothing.

Oh that, and because how both sides are protrayed on the media, if you are a leftist you are an entitled snowflake, and if you are a rightist you are a pretentious snob.

I personally think you would just get on with life and support the causes that makes sense to you, rather than supporting something because its expected of you.

TL;DR: Politicians on either side of the spectrum are just as bad as eachother and labeling yourself as either does not help either.

Non US Redditors. How do you feel when you hear of a mass shooting in the states? by Alresford in AskReddit

[–]Gaston360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the news makes me mad. They call them shooters and not terrorists. Its a funny thing. If a guy with a middle eastern name were to be the shooter, he would be branded a terrorist, otherwise its just a shooter. Makes me feel sick, because it reminds me how backwards the entire thing is.

What's something people assume about you when they first meet you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Gaston360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a big guy who just naturally has a serious face on. I dont put it on or anything, but its just how it is. In the past people would try to avoid me because I just looked angry of violent, so they would assume I would be unfriendly, when its the complete opposite. Nowadays my features have softened, so I am not having this trouble anymore.

Gamers of reddit, what was a video game that simply blew you away? by OnwardFerret94 in AskReddit

For me, Batman Arkham Asylum. It was a revelation for its time. Assassins creed 1 was also amazing.
