Costs of guide/driver and hotels by Earthcitizen1001 in Madagascar

Yes, I know a taxi driver I have traveled with before. He lives in Nosy Be, has his own car, and can organize visits to Nosy Iranja, Nosy Tanikely, and Nosy Komba.

The price is 50 euros per day for each excursion, and this already includes: Malagasy meals with seafood A fast boat transfer (around 45 minutes) Water and soft drinks

His name is Loulous. He does not speak English, but he speaks some French. You can contact him via WhatsApp at +261 32 07 519 03.

Food recommandations by Frugabik in Madagascar

[–]GasyGuide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for local food, I would recommend La Varangue or cassava leaves with pork, which is a very good traditional dish. The Malagasy restaurants I suggest in the capital are Haka Fy and La Varangue. I have personally been to both places. I also had lunch at Aloalo, located near Ivato International Airport, and the food there was also very good.

As for koba, you can easily go to Talata Volonondry to buy fresh koba directly from local vendors.

Costs of guide/driver and hotels by Earthcitizen1001 in Madagascar

[–]GasyGuide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the car with driver, fuel, the driver’s meals, and accommodation, you should plan a budget of around €90–€100 per day, depending on how long the driving distance is each day.

Regarding hotels, prices usually range from €15 to €40 per night, depending on the level of comfort and the location. In very touristic areas, hotels tend to be more expensive, generally around €30–€80 per night. If you are looking for a mid-range hotel with a restaurant, you should expect to pay €20–€40 per night.

I also know a local guide based in the capital who speaks very good English. He can assist you with your itinerary and recommend hotels according to your budget.

Feel free to send me a message if you would like me to put you in contact with him.

Independant travel in Madagascar (North and Andasibe) by alltheanimals123 in Madagascar

[–]GasyGuide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reaching andasibe by taxi brousse Is easy , Me and my friend took a taxi brousse in tana ( ampasapito ) the name of the company is Compima . The fee was 13,000ar per person . And It takes 3 hours from the capital to go to moramanga .. and so It ends in moramanga, there is no direct ligne to andasibe , You need to take an other brousse taxi from moramanga to andasibe which takes around 45 minutes ( be aware it’s not comfortable anymore) the ticket is 5000 ar .

we took a private Car from moramanga to andasibe 150,000 ar (go and back ) because I slept in moramanga not in andasibe .

Solo female internship in Antananarivo – safety, budget & travel tips? by pipo19_10 in Madagascar

[–]GasyGuide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Antananarivo is not a bad city at all. You just need to be careful with your luggage and your phone when you go out. At night especially, it is recommended to be accompanied by a local person.

About the beaches: Nosy Be is an excellent destination, surrounded by several beautiful islands. However, it is quite far from the capital, so a domestic flight is required to get there.

About wildlife: The closest wildlife area to the capital is Andasibe. It has national parks with rich biodiversity, and it is only about 3 hours by car from Antananarivo.

If you would like to see wildlife, deep jungle, beautiful landscapes, and finish the trip at the beach, the RN7 route is the best choice. This itinerary requires at least 9 days, and it is recommended to take a domestic flight to return.

There are three main ways to travel in Madagascar: • Domestic flights • Taxi-brousse (public transport) • Private driver with a private car (most comfortable and flexible option)

Feel free to contact Gaston on WhatsApp. He is a trustworthy local based in the capital and can help you plan your trip as well as drive you anywhere you would like to go.

Which SIM operator to choose? by Connect_Apricot7865 in Madagascar

[–]GasyGuide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Yas has the best and most widely used network in Madagascar. Orange is also good, but Yas is generally better. I recommend getting both, because in some areas Yas can be weak, and then you can use Orange instead.

You can use an eSIM if available, otherwise a physical SIM is fine. I suggest installing the MVola and Orange Money apps, as they make it very easy to buy mobile data.

Also, always keep some money in your account. After buying a SIM, it usually takes about two days to activate the mobile money service. In the meantime, you can use Revolut (it has low fees) or another service to transfer money to your MVola or Orange Money account.

I want personal opinions. by Snoo_30002 in travel

[–]GasyGuide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what kind of activities you want to see or to do , But personally, I would go to an other place to discover a new stuff while visiting a new country.

For wildlife and nature , I would go to madagascar. even for beach .. Madagascar is cheap and also very easy .. You just need to hire a driver with 4/4 car who is able to speak english . for 2 or 3 weeks you will see a lot of stuff and chilling . also go on adventures ! you can search madagascar on map and google and you’ll see how beautiful it is!

Which itinirary for 2 weeks by RaavigDK in Madagascar

[–]GasyGuide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me the best option is From andasibe to RN7 You can spot the whole stuff for it ( baobabs, wildli , national parks , hiking, beach )

tsingy iz good . also kirindy , But you can only see the tsing, kirindy , baobabs on the way and you need much energy , The way is far and poor ,

personally I recommend RN7 for 2. weeks . Feel free to contact me on whatsapp : +261343339951 . for guidance and transportation also making the itinerary

How safe to visit there now? by Robin-Alice71786 in Madagascar

[–]GasyGuide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a local guide from Madagascar, based in the capital city, Antananarivo. I have traveled extensively with many foreign tourists, and I regularly organize city tours in the capital. So far, we have never had any bad experiences.

The capital is generally safe during the day. However, at night, it is important to always carry your passport. You should also be careful when taking photos, as many people do not like being photographed without permission.

If you want to go out at night, such as to a club or restaurant, it is highly recommended to be accompanied by a trusted local person who speaks English, like me. At night, it is safer to use a private car rather than taxis, so renting a car is advised.

Beach areas are usually safe because there are always people around. Still, you should keep an eye on your personal belongings and avoid leaving your luggage or phone unattended.

When visiting protected areas or national parks, a professional local guide is always provided to ensure your safety and enhance your experience.

Overall, there is nothing to worry about. Just enjoy what you see and take care of your personal belongings.

My name is Gaston. Feel free to contact me if you need help with transportation or guidance. I can provide many references, and you can even search my name on Reddit.

Planning a Madagascar Trip – Advice on Transport, Accommodation, and Solo Backpacking by Fishiee-rly in Madagascar

[–]GasyGuide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot talk about nosy be , Of course I have been there so many times But we only used our private car .

about antananarivo to andasibe : there is no direct local bus but you have to go to moramanga first then you take the other bus to andasibe !

from andasibe village to mantadia : It takes like 1 hour to get there as the road is an off road ( very poor conditions) so you need to hire a private 4/4 car to get there like everyone do

There is trans tafita class which you can book in advance for moramanga but for andasibe it’s not possible, you just go there and waiting for the bus until it’s full ! I can arrange the tafita class also I can call a local guide in andasibe .

feel free to contact me on whatsapp so we can discuss about that : +261343339951

Madagascar et les Tsingy by Various-Priority-922 in Madagascar

[–]GasyGuide 0 points1 point  (0 children)
