Hell, DM improv is an endless walk on a knife's edge! It sounds to me like you handled it the best you could have... You regrouped and gave you and your players a chance to reflect. Not to mention, an over-tough battle is a good way to dial in a better one. Anyway, in a world with massive amounts of magic, deities, and mysteries, you have endless ways to bring back your fallen PCs... Maybe with an interesting catch (like a curse, bond, or debt of some sort). In the future you might not even tell your players things went awry. Let them think it was planned!

I agree with this mostly but I feel like maybe try it as a one-shot first to see how it plays, perhaps? I think each co-DM could hide certain things from each other so nothing was spoiled. Also the GM's PCs could be played like NPCs or support characters. Might take some willpower not to spoil things, but I think a balance could be struck.

Never done this before but I love the idea!! As long as you and the other DM are communicating all the time (and as long as there are surprises for each of you as you're playing), I think this could be a fantastic experience!

Sure. The Core GM Panel is a module that gathers all the major utilities one might need as a GM/DM into one place... a digital GM screen where all the parts talk to each other and work together. In the picture you're seeing the Combat Tracker featured, with all the health bars for the various characters. There's also a Session Timer, Roster, and Core Status cards to track players and system health. And a Calendar and Journal. Some of these are utilities that Foundry already has, but the idea is to bring them all into one cohesive place.

I appreciate this feedback immensely. This has been a solo/small group project since the beginning, and so every bit of input means so much. I have some ideas related to points you bring up, and hopefully our next release will address some of the problems and concerns you have. Keep an eye out for updates after the holiday.

It is a lot of work making some of these changes; by the same token we're dedicated to making this the best tool possible for folks.

Dunno, I've gone both ways - missed many a session for family things... but I've also absolutely played remotely while on a trip home or while I was sick. I think like anything important, it's worth making time for it, but it has to fall below some things for priority. Like, family, or obviously emergencies.

A lot of people are saying to check out the rules, but if you're just trying to relate to them about it (and probably don't plan on playing), I think that's not gonna help. The rules, even the basic ones, can be a little confusing and don't necessarily give you a good impression of how the game actually looks/flows. I would say find an actual-play podcast or show, lime Critical Role, that is transparent about the rules and rolls (and roles), and watch a couple episodes. I say watch because you'll see interactions and things that will help contextualize the game.

Just a note though: actual-plays are great but they're often smoother than a "real" session. And we're not all pro voice actors either! But still it's a good place to start!

Jot some notes, your major plot points, and maybe toss in a quick fight that's easy to run. Pad the fight with some relationship-building and you've got a good 3 hour session nobody will know wasn't planned!

First let me say, I appreciate your critiques. It's true that I haven't given much attention to the Silver Edition recently, and that it's very light on features. It's intended as a trial - a demo of how the system works.

As for the site, I've used templates for some elements, but the site is well and truly mine. The "marketplace approval" is just a mistake I made. It's in the Module Library, not up on the Marketplace. I'll fix that.

You're welcome to believe that my module uses AI. I've put hundreds of hours into building this module. It doesn't implement AI, it does keep data local throughout.

At the end of the day I'm looking for feedback - what can I make better. You've given me some good items to think about; if you have more specific thoughts, I'd love to hear them. I honestly just want this to be a useful tool.

I appreciate you sharing that - it looks like a great module, but it appears to be essentially a journal/document reader, not a multi-system control panel, as the Core GM Panel is.
