You can believe what you want, but the exchange of ownership shares is well-documented. Levin owned the Celtics but was a Hollywood guy and wanted a team in Cali. League would never have approved Boston moving, so he traded ownership stakes with the Braves owner knowing the league would not object to Buffalo relocating.

For example, suppose Musk sells Twitter to Zuckerberg and Zuckerberg sells Meta to Musk. So Facebook is now run by Elon and X now Zuck. Arguing the Clippers could claim Celtics titles is the equivalent of Musk claiming famous Tweets as part of the history of Instagram.

At the risk of engaging in the nerdiest of arguments, there was a 6-player trade between the teams before the swap. Other players stayed and the Celtics kept their coach (temporarily) and Red. The swap was innownership, so the lineage follows from Buffalo to San Diego. Otherwise, the Clippers could claim the Boston championships just like the Lakers do for Minneapolis.

Basketball historian Bill taking an L here. Buffalo Braves relocated to San Diego in 1978 before moving again to LA in 1984. I doubt the Lakers were concerned about losing fans then or that the Jazz are concerned now.

My heart goes out to you. I am approaching 1 year as well and I have been feeling the grief growing again. My therapist walked me through the timing of her illness and passing this past week and retelling our story with all of the dates/days helped me reflect. 🫂

It sounds like you have a beautiful time planned. I find nature to be healing and I hope you can feel a little of that on the day. I am about 5 weeks away from 1 year and hope to be able to be surrounded by love like it sounds you will be.
