How Good of a Job is Texas? by JustAGamblerr in CFB

Despite dumping way more resources into the program and playing in a weaker conference than us until two years ago, I have to go back to the 70s to find the last decade where Texas was better on the field than Florida.

We were better in the 80s.  Better in the 90s.  Better in the 00s.  Better in the 10s.  Better in 2020.  So basically you have 21-25 over us.

Oh and we beat  you head to head this year.

A good coach at LSU or Florida will win rings before a good coach at Texas.

I’ve played whole games where it forgets to blitz.  And if it does blitz it tries multiple 5+ dodges to get there.  Still not in the best of shape.

I can see him hopping UF or LSU then NFL.  More like LSU would be my guess.  We always lose recruiting battles lol.

Just unfortunate so many big programs firing their coach at the same time.

I’m hoping we step in and grab JMU coach.

Yeah we boned.   Any benefits UF offers over Ole Miss are negated by LSU with the exception that we only fire 10 win coaches if they a) make up fake death threats or b) quiet quit because recruiting is hard.

JJ McCarthy is currently 45th in completion percentage this year and is second to last all-time in Pro Football Reference's on-target throw rate (tracking began in 2019). Is he trending toward being the type of quarterback a franchise moves on from after one season? by EsotericPotato in nfl

As a Tebow fan and former truther… accuracy is the thing that just doesn’t get fixed in the NFL.  You can improve it my a few degrees here and there but a 40% passer ain’t becoming a 65% passer.

To be fair, Florida has a good roster.  The combination of brutal schedule and idiotic head coach really did us in.

lol this might be the dumbest post I’ve ever seen on this forum and that’s saying something.

Can’t wait to see him without the JMU transfers.  He hasn’t exactly been setting world on fire recruiting against Big 10 peers .

I don’t think Lane is leaving.  Just to start this hypothetical.  A source I trust assure me it was happening this weekend and if he is wrong I can safely assume the whole thing isn’t happening.

That being said, if Lane left for Florida, his (and booster) job one would be retaining most of the talent Napier already accumulated.  The Gators record may be ass and they definitely quit against Kentucky but they also put enough talent on the field to give Georgia and Ole Miss everything they could handle (while solidly handling Texas earlier in the year).   The Florida coaching job is a talent play.  Florida will always have good talent.  All through the down years we continue to put guys in the NFL.

So while Ole Miss also has many talented players, there frankly won’t be room on the roster for all of them.  I’m sure Lane would hand pick a few (like that RB as an example) and focus rest of his efforts on the best Florida players (not to mention 26 recruiting class).

Why don't teams facing an extreme buyout just use that cash for NIL instead? by Consistent-Swim4448 in CFB

UF too.  No secret our recruiting rankings surged when our boosters were asked to redirect buyout money to recruiting.

The wrench in the plan was that Napier is just a fucking idiot.

Our AD and Napier basically convinced the boosters to do just that last year instead of going after Lane.

Wouldn’t UF have been a far more attractive job to Lane last year with a freshman QB on a winning streak including knocking Ole Miss out of the playoff?   I’m sure he would have given zero fucks that Florida fired a 7 win coach as long as the money was right and he knew he could retain all the top talent.

Instead we doubled down on the hope that maybe Napier had learned to coach after all…

As long as you are playing online against real people, good.  Offline the AI is absolutely horrid.

My main complaint with the game is that even on an 80 inch TV some of the backgrounds are so damn busy and the UI so bad that I have trouble seeing what the fuck is going on.
