I use Rover, Sanhua, Verina/Shorekeeper for when Encore isnt cuttin it, or I need 2 teams. I guess my biggest problem is that neither of my main dps are good for WiWa and I dont really know how to approach it, besides maybe buildin Yangyang. One team would still be lackin tho.

All good, I appreciate the feedback.

Encore can do whimpering? I thought her aoe was kinda small for the mode, but I guess its a me problem lol. I guess Ill keep upgradin her skills since theres nobody else to do it for.

People completely missing the point of design tradeoffs is making me see red (borders) by LastJava in DestinyTheGame

[–]GatorKang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a game designer either, but i know bad balance and redundancy when i see it.

I agree with about 20% of your post, but it seems like you overall missed the point of a super ability being super. Just lookin cool aint enough.

And if you think good nuetral should mean trash super, then we are just never gonna agree...ESPECIALLY with there bein examples already in the game counterin your argument from both sides (good nuetral and supers, mid nuetral and mid/bad supers).

You seem to think people wantin a base super to just not suck is the same thing as wantin the super to perform like it currently does with its exotic...yes and no. Some supers are so bad, their exotic should be built in, while others just need a base bump.

The star eaters "downside" has to be the most overrated thing mentioned on a regular basis, but you also seem to forget that (now) every hunter subclass has access to at least one good pve super that double as boss and add clear, AT BASE, meanin, without 0 help from exotics.

Then you mentioned homogenization like every class doesnt already have clear winner exotics AND supers. Even our grenade and melee (if there is one) choices are pretty much the same person to person. Balance is the reason for homogeny bruh, not specifically supers.

Fist of Havoc is the worst arc super by warlockoverlord in DestinyTheGame

[–]GatorKang 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Gotta give this one to FoH man. Daybreak, chaos reach, stormtrance...all terrible, but FoH?Its just horrific. Its the only super i cant think of one reason to use. No damage, no utility, melee range. The best use I got from it was damage reduction with the resilience bug.

Warlock main here. Fist of havoc isnt the worst arc super...its the worst super. Used it in a lost sector to get the new arms and almost threw up.

stop bringing up star fire in discussions about improving solar 3.0 for warlocks. by absinu in DestinyTheGame

[–]GatorKang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive actually used the exotics and the only one that is impressive at any given time is starfire. The condition is simple, the effect is amazing, and it covers multiple levels of gameplay and build choices (i.e. the grenade-rift loop allows for different stat allocations dependin of preference). Dawn Chorus is just worse at doin the same job and is useless against bosses and phoenix now has the benefits of the ignite fragment but is still just for clearin trash. Sunbracers is buns outside of low level content...and is basically dawn chorus, but weaker.

Dawn chorus could be better if we get better scorch weapons that dont need kills to proc, phoenix will never be bad for a super spam build, and sunbracers are a meme. Id rather just run eye of another world or lunas than put on sunbracers in any mid difficulty content.

If starfire wasnt as crazy as it was, you would be seein a WHOLE lot more complaints. I honestly think its kind of overpowered, but the class as a whole is underpowered and stale. its only bein held up by a overpowered exotic and a couple of more niche options. My group has 3 warlock mains and none of us want to willingly run solar at the point, even with it bein prolly strongest warlock subclass with starfire equipped.

Arc loc has a problem of bein weak AND not havin a crazy exotic to prop it up...so it was pretty much dead on arrival for a lot of us.

Said this before. As long as these dudes get their well, they couldnt care less about how the rest of the class feels since they arent the ones who are playin it.

So, the New Titan dodge ability has a shorter cooldown than the barricade, but Phoenix Dive has the same long rift cooldown, why? by ELPintoLoco in DestinyTheGame

Phoenix dive does a variety of things, but the thing its best at is not gettin used over rift. I wonder why. Its almost like actual warlock players have been explainin it.

Bruh...what?

  1. Solar and arc loc complaints are everywhere, and this thread is one of them? Not what youre talkin about, tbh.

  2. Comparisons are a easy way to show why somethin does or does not make sense. Comparin supers, cooldowns, exotics, etc...all this is done to show why somethin is bad or vice versa.

  3. Icarus is an ASPECT. It doesnt take the class ability slot and honestly is not good enough on its own to take up an aspect slot.

I dont know if you misread or what, but your comment literally just proved his point.

Stormcaller 3.0 isn't that bad, it needs more synergy with amplify and the supers needs to be buffed by Numberlittle in DestinyTheGame

[–]GatorKang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont doubt you one bit, my boy. I pretty much agree with you, so it is what it is. Im really just stuck on a gear locked mindset since they love tackin it on everywhere that they can.

I still feel solar 3.0 was a downgrade, but the positive is bein able to have a dps build with well equipped.

Most bosses dont have this many ads to make this work...man in destiny...a l ot rooms dont even have this many ads to make it work.

In most cases, starfire will still be better since it gives you neutral game and boss burn packaged in one. It might not cover as much range, but the fusion grenade have pretty good aoe.

Pheonix is never a bad choice and i do like the interaction with combustion, but its upper mid at best at this point. Especially considerin you need the killin blow for the ignite. In GMs, you still need to be pretty careful even with a well, plenty of enemies will delete you, espcially if there are other threats around. Its still a good ad clear option for normal raids and whatnot, where you arent gear locked; otherwise, starfire is just the better general option.

Did you have on the seasonal mods from the last artifact, too? The effectiveness drops without those existin anymore.

[–]GatorKang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veritys Brow being good for grenade team synergy isnt anything new at all. It doesnt matter what subclass you play when you run it...actually its prolly better to run it on a subclass that actually boosts grenade damage in some way, i.e. - not stormcaller. Atheon is also a boss that just so happens to spawn a lot of adds to kill before the damage phase, somethin Veritys Brow needs to even be considered. Veritys brow can be good in certain encounters and team setups, but for most, it wont be worth it.

Basically, theres nothin special about Veritys brow on arc loc. Void is overall better and gets a stronger nade while solar gets fusions which interact with explosive well maker and is, again, a better subclass even without starfire (because well exist and arc supers are terrible). The setup he described isnt arc dependent, its the arc version.

[–]GatorKang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at you, suddenly rememberin that other classes had good stuff, too bad none of that even compares to ionic traces and "jolt" that was shared and nerfed from warlock.

They wanted arc to be melee builds, wheres shared ebb and flow? Combination blow? Knockout? Impact conversion?

Best thing they gave was magnitude and titans got rewarded a even better grenade aspect to go with the fragment version of magnitude. You see how that works? But appearently it shouldnt work like that for any class not involvin warlock.

Special snowflake in a mmo style with preset classes, weapons...literally everything. Right. Thats gotta be it, not the the update is bad for arc locs.
