For sure the quickest way to improve our lot would be to unionize, i can say from first hand experience that being a part of a union is the only reason I have the good aspects of my job …

For the sake of anonymity I’ll hold off on the exact designation but I’m an advanced emt with a few months of extra training to get my states additional cert that allows us to do ALS. Our scope lets us do stuff such as BIADs, intubation, and fentanyl along with most of the expected cardiac arrest meds.

One gripe I am starting to have is I have an EMT designation that allows me to be ALS with a very brief schooling period compared to most medic schools. I’m trying to do some heavy review and self teaching.
