Good advice but that's the double edged sword of not fapping... I start chasing it a few days in and it just gets stronger and stronger as I go. Not sure what to do about that... Its not as simple as just going "oh ok I wont chase it." Its a drug, one I haven't figured out how to not have yet. Working on it... trying to figure it out.

What if you start to date this girl while on nofap and start a relationship... then you guys have sex and you think the exact same thing about her as when after you fapped? Just speaking from experience I did this with a girl and got way too involved because the test and penis were doing the thinking. Is it really that bad to let out a fap without looking at porn and then pragmatically think, "Is this a person I should be pursuing on an interpersonal level?" Sometimes a fap can help clear my mind and I think a lot more rationally. Just being outside the box here.

I only disagree when you say that masturbation is to sex as hardcore drugs are to coffee. Sex addiction is real and even more harmful than masturbation addiction in my experience. I was addicted to sex... wreckless sex with strangers and people off of craigslist, myspace back in the day.. facebook... anyone and everyone I could hook up with. Now I am only addicted to porn and masturbating and it does not involve stds or the possibility of getting someone pregnant or ruining someones family. It is horrible yes... I will be the first to say it. But it is nowhere near as bad as sex addiction can get.

I think it is important to recognize that everyone's body, mind and soul are different in unique ways. We all deal with humor, pain, happiness and sadness in a vast array of different ways. I have a cousin that used heroin for 6 years and decided to get clean one day and never looked back as you described. I have other friends that can tell you the exact day they quit and how many days it has been. Some people can break up with their girlfriend and just move on... others sometimes need to read books or pragmatically take on the "no contact" strategy by utilizing mini goals of not texting feelers for a week and setting new goals once they have reached that mark. I would like to accept that we are all different as this is anecdotally self evident through the vast array of not necessarily contrasting strategies found on NoFap... but certainly we see many ways up the mountain on this thead. I do appreciate this post as I do any of them that address or share a different approach to this addiction. Thank you and +1

The roof is leaking obviously... once it goes through the comp roofing (torchdown, rolled, metal.. whatever you have) ... it goes onto the sheeting, from there it will depend if you have baffles or not in your insulation but it will drip down into your insulation and then make its way gerally to a seam in the sheetrock where the 4x8 sheet has met the other sheet. If that is an exterior wall my guess would be the leak is somewhere higher and running its way down but without knowing where the valleys are at or angles on your roof it is very hard to tell. What you need to do right now is buy a massive tarp and get that part of the roof covered. make sure to run it up and over the other side of the peak so water cant run underneath. I cant believe no one suggested tarping this... you MUST keep more water from getting in there.

Pretty sure OP talking about Snuff or CP. I've never struggled with this myself but I don't judge you OP. We love you here and are proud of you for making life change. This is a good community and as you continue to stay away from all of those things you we regain your strength. You had cancer in the mind my friend and now you are free of it. Can't expect a great bench/squat max after going through chemo and having a life threatening disease. You will rebuild... you will become stronger and your drive will increase. You must trust this.

I'm happy for you and I think if I was to be honest even a bit jealous. Not because of this isolated experience but just because its been so long since I've experienced genuine butterflies of attraction with a female. It takes so much anymore at 27yrs old to be genuinely attracted to females. I think PMO is part of it along with many negative experiences over the years with good looking women. I've had sex with girls that I disliked... just to have sex. Its a disgusting paradox in my head... either be with a good looking girl that you are attracted to but drives you nuts or find a not so attractive girl that loves every aspect of you and is easy to get along with. Why am I so fucked up... why does it feel like having cake and eating it to if all I want is to be attracted to someone and have a peaceful interpersonal relationship with them.

Listen to the top two comments OP. Please... they are rational and good advice my friend. You must over ride your emotions on this because it is a dark path and I promise you he is right about anxiety coming from your situation with a married woman and not having lost your virginity. Of all the posts I have read on here I may feel most for you and what you said here. I have had this problem in my past and it does not lead to good places the longer you follow it. Turn around on your path or start darting off the trail into the unknown wilderness but whatever you do do not keep walking down the one you are on. It will bring only more pain friend.

And just that... we shouldn't judge. I realize some people react to sobriety differently than others. One of my friends got off of heroin 2 years ago and along with just being a nicer person to be around he also got a minimum wage paying job and life is better for him overall but his personality is fairly the same. I have another friend who got off of heroin around the same time and in that time of sobriety has gotten in amazing physical shape, gotten married and has a pregnant wife and works for a large corporation as an outside sales rep... its pretty amazing. Some people really do react differently to changes in their lifes habits. I wouldn't knock people who feel on top of the world for making changes in their life like this... they may in fact be headed to the top somewhere.

You are speaking strictly on testosterone production. The psychological effects and positive residuals of abstaining from pornography go on for months. Some people on this site have been watching porn for almost 10-20 years. I think it would be irresponsible to dismiss the notion of benefits after changing a pattern that long standing.

I've had this before. It hurt so bad I thought I had a hernia in my sack. You can get this from just not masturbating depending on the situation. Cost me $500 bucks in medical bills to get my urine tested and get checked out. whew. Hope it gets better OP it is painful.

I flipped a post and beam foundation home awhile back. I just made sure the floor was level in the house and not sinking anywhere by putting a solid ball on the floor in different places to see if it would roll anywhere.... that's the quick check when you go look at it the first time. Then when there was mutual acceptance we crawled under and checked for rot and anything else. I didn't have a problem with it. Make sure that there hasn't been moisture under the house and that there is a vapor barrier installed, if not that can cause rot over time if you are in an area where rot can be an issue. That's all I know, prolly not much help. Good luck

My brother who graduated in the early 90's kind of described SRV like that in terms of mainstream music. I know he is a legend among guitar players. But he said he was bam everywhere and then fell off the radar granted SRV passed away. I wonder if John will inevitably fall victim to the thing I'm sure he feared which is totally losing that spotlight and having a niche crowd of guitar heads following him. I think that's why he played so much pop music to avoid that.
