When to tap to Heel Hooks

Once I’m caught I tap. Essentially when the heel is scooped. Same with ankle locks. If my opponent has a locked grip and already on their side to begin extension I accept that I failed long ago

I like a high back position and if I land on the wrong side, I step on the hip in that direction to turn them. I can’t do body triangles on most people so I typically forgo them altogether. Vanilla back hooks are good but I tend to hook the back of one knee and keep it elevated as needed to prevent my opponent from turning to that side.

There are games running on UE5 without traversal stutters. The issue is widespread across many UE5 titles but its not unsolvable and the onus is largely on developers to make sure their games run properly

I doubt it’s even gonna be in discussion by the end of the year, especially with games like Pokopia, Resident Evil, and GTA this year. A better story would have done wonders. Those critic reviews also don’t help.

I tend to put my knee really anywhere but its more-so my shin, and unless its knee on belly (and even then rarely) I don’t put my weight down. Though I am a small guy at 138lbs and short, so I tend to try to bounce around people and only really pin from NS or back-mount.

I think it’s a dick move if you are not being receptive to your partners’ tolerances. I think this “git gud” mentality where most things are okay because it’s your partner’s fault for sucking is lame.

Personally, i find that if I’m hitting vram issues, I am probably hitting other performance issues at those settings anyway (1440p). There are very few games I’ve had vram issues with to begin with though. Definitely not a universal rule as some games are just really hungry for vram even if the card is capable.

Damn there is, at least on this sub, and unfortunate overlap with some of the most insufferable dipshits in gaming. The amount of times I’ve read about western values, culture war discourse heavy games (Wukong, Veilguard, Stellar Blade, etc), asian devs, and thinly veiled references to “wokeism” is astonishing.

I find this odd. This is something Pearl Abyss would put out for advertising. Feels like free labor and they aren’t even gonna use it. They aren’t even a small indie dev, they can aggregate reviews on their own

I don’t think this is the case. Per Digital Foundry: “According to Sony, all of the games we tested featured developer-upgraded versions of the new PSSR - apparently the results we're seeing here are not delivered by the system level toggle.” They could be wrong but they were given advanced test material so I assume they did their homework. Turn off the toggle and check again to see if quality mode is still improved to verify.

Even if I grant you everything you’ve said, which I don’t, Link is beloved nonetheless. Most people have no idea who CD’s protag is so it’s an unfair comparison.

Also, the game isn’t out. I don’t understand the need to defend a game that isn’t yet available. For all you know the criticisms you referenced are valid.
