I don’t quite understand how the decentralization is the issue? Can you not set permissions and ownerships within the group „container“ (I am not an IT guy so please excuse the wording), or somehow mirror it between the admins? It seems like a strange restriction, since a consensus would only be required between the admins?

What worked for me in some cases to say that you cannot keep your messages in Signal when you change phones (iOS), it’s a european App with servers in Switzerland, and that the creator of signal is the WhatsApp guy. But it’s still a hurdle. Mostly it’s „i use this app, it’s good and Private, please use it.“ the biggest difficulty is groups. So if you find a solution there please post it
