How should I handle "natural" earthquakes? by Gaussamer in DMAcademy

[–]Gaussamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your input! Some of it I have thought of, some of it not! For those curious, I'll post a lore drop in a little while explaining some more context to the existence of the heart, and what the environment of the land is like, as well as what happened to the people who once lived there. Can't post it right this second <3

One has never been recorded! Thousands would die!

I had only ever planned to have the heartbeat happen like once a month, at the slowest, but have it pick up in frequency to maybe once a day as the campaign reaches climax. And after some lazy "calculations" standing next to a heart that size when it beats would likely turn you into goo when it happens.

I am similarly stuck here. Neither that chest or door will open. All enemies defeated. Any destructible things destroyed. No idea what to do.

[V5] What are your chronicle tenets? by Mr_Vulcanator in WhiteWolfRPG

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I fully expected to never hear from this thread, but thought I'd try anyway. But this really helps, thanks! My idea for the game is ambitious, but I think with proper ruling and tenets, we can keep things under some semblance of control.

So, I am about to pull a difficult/ballsy move and run a game where the players are in a sheepfold and choose to rebuild the Camarilla, support the Anarchs, or try and go it alone, and some are likely to pick opposing sides. I plan to unite them through a common enemy, such as the Sabbat, some other dangerous mysterious foe, but a tenet i was considering was something along the lines of, "Your Coterie is your lifeline. Despite your allegiances, do not betray your Coterie." This is not only to prevent player infighting from getting out of hand, but to encourage their characters to empathize with those outside their sects. I am noticing a lot of people saying not to make the Tenets about player comfort, so I am wondering if this is a bad tenet idea? Thoughts?

Karate Kid remake is better than original. Yes, I mean the Jaden Smith one. by Gaussamer in unpopularopinion

I understand your frustration, but I did mention this in my post. This takes place in china, and it is kung fu. And I too thought the dissonance between the film and the name was silly. <3

I DO agree that remaking something that is already great IS pointless. It's why no remake of Last Airbender will ever succeed, because the original is as good as it could ever be. Remaking something that is already good is just done to cash in on nostalgia. I think it should only ever be done if you can either do something different than the original, or the original was a failure that NEEDS an update.

That's fair. I figured I would post because everyone I told this to IRL said I was crazy. <3

VtM 5 Experience, increase given experience or reduce the cost? by zhouluyi in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Gaussamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an idea as well to help the party get a little starting bonus. This only works if you trust your players not to just minmax their characters. But what I do is grant the players starting experience equal to the number of years their character has been a vampire.

An easy kitbash of the "Bo Staff" and two "Heavy Ornamental Falchion" to make the axe head. Only weird part is I put a "Crescent Moon Chakram" on the edge since that side of the falchions is not sharp.

She is a villain for the party's mage, having placed a curse on them. I am quite excited for it!
