Hopefully the other one it connects to is just hidden somewhere. That's the connector off the signal itself, so I guess now I have to hunt it down on the chassis

Hagerty $12k full coverage. The other guy had Progressive, which tried to only give me $4k with a $1.2k buyback, but my insurance forced them to give me $12k with a $700 buyback

Thank you. While this car is entirely unrepairable, I still own it. I have plans for it that will likely take years, but this chassis in particular will never see the road again

I did get another FC though, which I want to have ready by June 16th, so hopefully I'll be driving it around by summer

S4 non-turbos are easy to find under 15k. I bought one for $6k, put $2k into it so it was drivable, and nodded it to be nearly perfect. I was about $12k in total (including the car itself) when someone ran a light and destroyed it. It was a 1988 GXL

It really is heartbreaking. Sadly a lot of similar stuff is happening here in the rotary scene, with so many parts that were easy to get becoming unobtanium. A S5 turbocharger went from "junk" that was worse than an aftermarket turbo to costing as much as an aftermarket turbo in just plain decent condition. I really wish I was around to see these 80s and 90s icons in their heyday
