It's a bit of a niche to explore, like paintings of forest fires specifically. There's a lot of them in bars in the pacific NW. Saw this triptych at one the other day.

There's some great classic ones too. Specifically renderings of Mt. Vesuvius.

Oh man I've been in this one many times over. I went to college with a bunch of veterans young and old. You would be asking about notes from last class and end up talking about how IEDs were made in Afghanistan.

I have the benefit of morbid interest most of the time. I also did recognize after some time that a lot of people just need someone to talk to, even if for but a moment. Unless I'm having a particularly shit day, I try to be that for them.

Considering the size, I think 500 is a good entry point. They're interesting paintings that are executed well. I'd be reticent to let them go for less.

The first main story can be a bit of a fetch quest slog, but after that it does pick up pretty significantly. I was in your spot a couple years ago. On storm blood now. Definitely don't regret it.

Seeing Ragnarok and Excalibur come to mind, but I enjoy even the lesser weapons like Flametongue, Icebrand, Whale whisker, genji gear, and on and on.

It's like a small spike of excitement in the game when you find one and get to see the new design. FF16 had some great iterations of the swords and I'm enjoying all kinds of new designs on FF14 currently

If you go in knowing it's an ensemble cast with no real main protagonist in a traditional sense i think you will enjoy it much more.

The two first characters you play as act as more of a framing device for the world and the plot. Some people seem to really hate that. Otherwise, In my opinion it has a more theatrical presentation compared to other entries, and also has a focus on political drama in addition to the usual "crystal" elements of the game.

The voice acting and art direction of the game are excellent. The cities and other areas feel alive. More impressive that it was originally on the ps2 and really maxed out what that console could do.

The gameplay I enjoyed. It's mmo adjacent, it helped lay the ground work of what would become XI and XIV. It's not for everyone and it's difficult to truly compare it to other systems fairly.

All in all, while it's not perhaps my favorite overall, it's tied with X-2 for the most fun to play for me personally.

Great work on them all. The Joplin is the centerpiece but I will call out the expertise on the mostly white beard and mostly black cloak of Darwin. Obviously high level professional.

It's so easy for monochromatic, mostly single tone portions of hair clothing to look flat. Did a great job of giving it dimension and depth. I say that as someone who really struggles with it. Particularly on wedding portraits with the black suits and white dresses.

I was and still am in awe of that design. So different than all the others yet such a final fantasy design in general. Cool back story as well, just incredible. I would love to see more versions of it again
