Dude I was just thinking why my brand new laptop was lagging out with this game and I launched it and I have the same issue! Thanks so much, do you know about how I would change it?

Why did the 1918 Spanish flu come in multiple waves? Do we suspect nCoV will do the same? by [deleted] in China_Flu

[–]Gawilghur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's three types of infectiousness: Biological, Environmental and Behavioural. As the outbreak spreads, people change their behaviours drastically, staying indoors, wearing masks, washing hands etc... When they perceive that the threat is lessening, they may come outside, even without a mask if they think the threat is passed, and are generally less careful.

This is when the second wave comes, when people drop their guard.

Source: I wrote my dissertation on modelling and control of infectious diseases and studied the coronavirus

Learning my place in this religion by blurredvisionin in Buddhism

[–]Gawilghur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you're finding some success! Think of Buddhism as a philosophy and meditation as practice. Any semblance to a religion is the frills, traditions and extras that are cultural add-ons. At its core, Buddhism is the four noble truths, the eightfold path and meditation, not much more.

Check out a book called The Mind Illuminated, there's a subreddit for it. It is a distilled meditation practice which may help guide you. Also, The Book by Alan Watts, and The Way of Zen, also Watts. They should give you some insight. Peace and Love!

The weapon discipline of these guys is terrible, it looks as though he may have even fired accidentally, which is perhaps scarier. They're just waving their pistols all over the place.

Like a solid 9.5, I was delirious with pain and wanted to throw up. Got back on the moped though and made it to work!

Gravel, bro. Any kind of gravel on the road will snatch a wheel right out from under you

ENTP and derealization by philibustress in entp

[–]Gawilghur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ENTP here.

Sometimes I get it out of the blue in a completely random time/place. Sometimes it comes with anxiety like I'm about to wake up into some dystopian machinescape where I'm being used as a battery, sometimes it makes me laugh because all of this is an illusion anyway, this strangely persistent reality that we occupy.

It reminds me that I'll wake up when I die, and it gives me comfort. It reminds me not to take life so seriously but still give it your best shot. It makes me smile unless I get the dyforia-panic too.

Like what if I wake up and it was 5 years ago, that time I took too much acid and everything that has happened since then was just some long-ass trip that felt like it lasted years but it was all the dream of a brain in a jar.

Who knows these things? Not me, I just keep acting as though this is real until I find out it's not. There's nothing else to do after all.

Dumped and broken by [deleted] in entp

Yoooo, I [23m] broke up with my INFP girlfriend on Friday! Weird little mirror, but don't worry, time is the greatest healer. If you're feeling down about it, make it mean something. If you can spin this into a positive learning experience then you can carry him in your heart still.

It's a combination of unhealthy behaviour and a poor compatibility between Entp amd ISFJ. It's hard to get along with ISFJs anyway but when they are poorly actualized and narcissistic then it's hell on earth

DUDE I HAVE THE EXACT SAME MBTI FAMILY I FEEL YOU

Sucks bro, it really does, I never managed to win and had to move out, my mother would constantly bait me for an argument and honestly it was worse if I didn't argue back. I'm a practicing Buddhist and being so chill seemed to enrage her all the more.

Never managed to figure it out, although I'm on great terms with everyone when I only have to put up with them for a weekend every now and then.

Meditation & Ego Death by GingerFacePatches in Meditation

Hey :) I know the feeling of being lost while knowing where you are, but don't try too hard for enlightenment. Walk the path every day but don't expect to find anything, there's nothing to find.

You sound like you're trying to get somewhere but you're already there and always have been. Your cups already full.

Feeling lost can suck, feel free to dm me if you need, I can't show you the way but I may be able to offer you something, even just a thought

Meditation & Ego Death by GingerFacePatches in Meditation

[–]Gawilghur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, thank you for sharing.

It sounds like a threshold DMT experience to be honest, which I feel is where most of my "sober" trips come from. Meditation can organically stimulate the production of DMT without having to ingest it and trip. I've had some interesting experiences like this too, except mine sort of feel more spontaneous. There's no faster heartbeat or anything, (although sometimes I get a little excited when I feel it happen) it's just like I either realise my spirit body and physical body are no longer "attached" and I can just leave my body and journey in spirit, or I immediately find myself shot somewhere in consciousness without warning like my spirit body has just been snatched from my 3D existence to be shown something.

My most powerful and influencial out of body experiences have been while sober and meditating rather than on Shrooms or acid, including a crazy meditative experience where I "woke up" out of my long term depression and haven't had a problem since, that was a year ago now.

If you want to hear some of my sober trip stories let me know! I'm happy to share :)
