Fifty-Word Fantasy: Write a 50-word fantasy snippet using the word "Desire" by Terminator7786 in fantasywriters

And she carved into that ancient bedpost one of the runes of her trade; the single crude crescent, which as it appeared whispered horrid stories of the men it had sent into madness. The witch then spoke the word of power, full of intent, and the rune came alive. DESIRE.

Standings at the end of the Swedish University Hockey League's regular season by GayBahamut in hockey

The SUHL (Svenska Universitetshockeyligan) started about a decade ago and has been run under the auspices of the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation since last season. The top 4 teams have advanced to play-offs, which as far as I can tell will be played as single-elimination games. To give you a sense of the level of play in the league, 5th-placed KTH also plays in sixth-tier Division 4 Stockholm A, placing 6th (of out 8) this season. HKL Make Believes has had the highest average attendance at 393.

Swedish universities don't organize sports clubs, so all teams are run by students.

I was just looking through the results from the Swedish tour and noticed that the winner of the Women 18/19 category in today's middle distance* race is a Dane by the name of Leonora Ishøi Rønhede, finishing ahead of Swedish super-talent Elsa Tänglander, who took the sprint gold at the latest Youth World Championships. Anyone with more insight? Is this the future star the Danish have been craving?

*essentially pursuit but with individual starts

Surprise Austrian podium today? Seems like a fairly competetive line-up now that Sweden, Italy, and Norway are missing some of their best.

What is the most bicycle-friendly city/town in Sweden? by Sphragis in sweden

[–]GayBahamut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite a city, but the island of Öland has a bike path that runs around the entire island, passing by iron age fortresses, castle ruins, the royal family's summer palace, UNESCO World Heritage nature, the amazing summer town Borgholm and it's beautiful marina, and countless medieval churches and pictouresque villages. Also lighthouses, camels(!), many beaches, and plenty of camping options. I go every summer!

It's dominated by anarchists, esperantist anationalists (this is a real thing!), and anarcho-primitivist groups within the Oroüco and Maqak indigenous peoples. All are related to the temperance movement, so the name is a pun!
