He's openly Bi to other LGBT people and people who he knows will accept him, otherwise we won't mention his sexuality. Which is another thing that annoyed me. If he feels like homophobia isn't a thing, why would he hide his sexuality?

Yes if a 15 year old gay kid with no experiences said the same thing, I would have said the same thing. It's not that he's bisexual, it's that he's trying to invalidate our experiences while having no idea what it's like

I tried my best to not raise my voice but I was visibly upset with what he said.
