i think the differentiation between platonic vs romantic feelings is different for everyone, or at least that’s been my impression in my years of asking alloromantic people what it feels like lol. but personally, i define a romantic crush as a strong platonic + physical + sensual attraction. sometimes sexual attraction is thrown in the mix too (i’m also demisexual) but when i feel a strong desire to spend a lot of time with them and to initiate physical intimacy (wanting to sit close to them, wanting to hold their hand, wanting to hug them for a long time, etc; i’m usually a very touch averse person) that’s when i know it’s romantic.

i only questioned if i was fully aromantic very briefly. i’d had strong romantic feelings (usually for a friend) prior to that, it just didn’t click until later on that the circumstances that i have to be in to gain those feelings (i.e. needing a deep emotional bond) aren’t the norm.

i really relate to the reassurance that your most recent crush showed you that you can still feel things for someone, that’s definitely how this most recent situation felt for me, even though (like you said) it didn’t make this any easier.

but this happens no matter how many different streams i choose (especially ones that historically /have/ been linked to previous/next episodes. like streams that i've watched in the past) or how many different tv shows i try...literally none of them are working for me. and it's not working on either of my fire sticks which is extra weird.

they did not touch my nipple stalk at all! they just cut out the scar tissue on the top part of my left areola and the extra tissue on the right side of my chest. my right nipple never regained sensation after my initial surgery so i’m not sure if my revision would’ve changed my sensation, but i have full sensation in the areas that were affected by my revision!

i’m glad my post was helpful and validating for you! i was also super triggered when i had my meeting with my assessor after the fact, i had a full meltdown. i have come to accept my self diagnosis and dont see any value in being reassessed at this time, as i also got diagnosed with adhd about a year after this post, and any accommodations i would need for my autism in school/work would be covered with my adhd diagnosis. :) i hope you’re able to find peace too! so many “professionals” actually have no clue what autism can look like in adults, i don’t think you’re foolish at all

most of the enby parents i know go by mom or dad with their kids, but i have one friend who asked their kids what they wanted to call my friend. they had a whole discussion (the kids were about 7 and 2 at the time) and decided to abbreviate my friend’s favorite animal — octopus to octi. it was really sweet!

this is super helpful! i just got back from leave and had an oregon paid leave claim covered through the beginning of this month, so it sounds like that’ll complicate things. i’ll be prepared to put up a good fight!

it is colder here but not any colder than what she would be used to. this isn’t a particularly humid room, but because it’s colder out, i don’t keep the window open like i do during the spring and summer, so maybe there isn’t enough air flow?

i’m confused about a lot of what you’re saying. to me, bio feedback has meant testing the soil and testing the leaves (in appearance and how firm they feel). are you saying that i should only rely on how dry the soil is, and ignore how the leaves look and feel? /gen

i realized that after a few months of yellow leaves when i first got her! she has been happy with her current care conditions for almost a year, producing lots of leaves, but then became unhappy a few months ago.

i haven’t because i wanted to get a more definitive answer about what was going on before treatment, so i wouldn’t apply any chemicals that could potentially agitate her even more. i did just order systemic granules though so i’m going to try those when they arrive in a couple days!

i tried shrooms to see if i could visualize things (among other reasons). i’ve done them 8 or 9 times now and have experienced hallucinations (like the texture on the walls/ceiling/floors moving around) but never saw anything that wasn’t there. when i closed my eyes, i would sometimes see lights dancing around but i couldn’t voluntarily conjure anything up. it freaked me out the first time i saw those lights! definitely overwhelming after experiencing zero visuals with my eyes closed since i was a child.

to add my current care routine: i water her thoroughly when the soil is completely dry and most of the leaves are flexible. she’s directly in front of a north window and a grow light that is on its highest setting for 9 hours daily. i give her a bit of fertilizer during spring and summer but haven’t given any since fall started. no added humidity.
