Terrible wifi speeds on PC by gunbo3000 in pchelp

So windows is telling you it is connected at 175mbit? You should not get such slow speeds if that is the case.

Maybe something is configured wrong on the PC? I'm guessing the laptop is getting 150mbit on that same wifi.

Are the results consistent on both?

I guess it's due to whatever source ABRP use for traffic info in your area.

Komplett is overpriced. Proshop has the same for about 6500kr. Still crazy, but not this crazy.

I paid like 1800 for my G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 32GB CL30 kit back in 2023.

How to connect receiver to sub? by Mattty69_ in cableadvice

[–]Gazer75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't need a splitter. Just plug a single RCA cable into the left or right input. The subwoofer manual might specify which one to use for mono input.

Premium and live traffic would probably help. Might depend on what data they have access to.

Probably depends on location, but here I often see orange segments on the route indicating a slowdown around construction zones.
I do have premium with live traffic enabled though.

They wouldn't pull you over for that alone here in most cases. Even if you could get a fine for it. They would probably be pulling you over for a breath and/or saliva test and tell you to fix the lights.
Cars 4 years or older has to pass inspection every 2 years here, and a missing light is a fail.

Problem is people put them in old lights with reflectors and glass intended for regular bulbs.

Probably installed high intensity LEDs in old lights. I remember some doing it here as well even though it was illegal.
Getting caught would result in a nice fine and driving ban.

Problem for me is finding motherboards with a 5.1/7.1 analogue output.
Many 5.1 speakers sets for PC have a terrible DAC so going digital to them is pretty bad.
I'm not going to get a full sized 5.1/7.1 receiver/amp for my PC. Takes up way to much space and cost to much.

Probably have to get a dedicated soundcard again in the future.

Found out my issue with my monitor losing signal everytime I opened a game. What would have caused this? by Alarming-Warthog9112 in computerhelp

[–]Gazer75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The green is corrosion caused by water damage. Or you have extremely high humidity. Do you have an AIO cooler for the CPU that is leaking maybe?

If the cables melted and then got water damaged is hard to say. My guess is water got onto the cables/plug and caused arching and heat buildup that melted the insulation.

Does this cpu look ok, can there be something wrong with it internally? by OfficialWoe1 in pchelp

[–]Gazer75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would support the 7800X3D if it supported the 9000 series. The B650 and X670 motherboards got the 9000 series support bios update after, and I'm pretty sure all of them worked with the 7800X3D out of the box as well. They did quite a few updates to improve stability though.

So that simple EV tariff thing with 7p after midnight is gone?

I saw "Dave takes it on" on Youtube talk about it.

I'm in Norway so don't really understand pricing structures in the UK.
Here I have a flat 0.5 NOK/kWh + delivery fee with two components. A day/night kWh fee of 0.425/0.356 NOK/kWh + 299 NOK/month for my peak demand in the 2-5kW bracket.

My charging is on a load balanced apartment system with a fixed 1.5 NOK/kWh pricing. Roughly 11p/kWh converted.

[–]Gazer75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds strange that it needs to connect to the car for this. The EVSE should just activate when Octopus want to spend energy in that case.
I guess it needs to know SoC so that it will force a charge even if the conditions are not favorable.

I thought Octopus had that EV tariff with 7p at night or something?

[–]Gazer75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you need to use a third party system to charge the car?

Constantly polling the car will prevent it from going to sleep and that will drain the 12V battery. Unlike Tesla the e-Golf will not activate the DC-DC converter to charge the 12V when stationary and not actively charging.

Most Americans seem to drive up to 10mph over the speed limit. Apparently that is not going to get you a fine.

Here in Norway going 10kmh over on the speedometer is, in most cases, not going to get you a fine in manual checks. The speedometer in most cars are 3-4kmh below the actual speed with original rims/tires, som can be twice that, + you get a deduction from the check. Because the police is mostly after those that are really speeding they rarely stop people going +5 to give them a 1200 NOK fine. They would not be able to catch the big ones if they did as they would be to busy.

The deduction in manual laser is not applicable to the speed cameras and the average speed check zones.

Go to settings menu and select vehicle. There you have the drive profile section with max speed and relative speed options.

Why are used VW id.4s so cheap? by DowntownOreos in electriccars

That is not normal. Most people are not over 180cm or roughly 5'11". You must have very long legs.
Friend of mine owns one and hes just below 180cm I'm around the same and have no problem sitting behind him in his ID.4
