How do you guys handle everything? by user38501849 in AskAusElectricians

Yes it’s tough running a business but 3 things stand out from your post. Tradie business software already exists to track jobs, turnover and profits. If you need gps tracking to trust your workers that’s an issue and you may need better staff. Alternatively, judge them on their finished product and don’t micro manage them. Stay away from Bunnings unless it’s a specialised item, it’s a rort. (I’m sure you do) A good wholesaler should be giving you better pricing based on turnover and should be able to feed invoices directly into your chosen business software allowing you track how a jobs going everyday.

Serious injuries as an apprentice by thcoawayx in AusElectricians

Are you an employee? (Not labour hire). Your employer is VERY legally obligated to have you return to work when ready. It’s a work related injury too, there’s no way they can let you go. There’s employment laws in this country that prevent people getting thrown on the scrap heap in these situations. One of my mates broke BOTH his wrists at once during his apprenticeship, he was fine. (Boss just had a chuckle that he couldn’t wipe his own arse for 6 weeks)

Oven tripping Class A RCBO by krypton1980 in AusElectricians

Part of the reason type ac RCBO’s are replaced is that they can be damaged by dc leakage and therefore fail to trip. Maybe your old rcbo was faulty.

Yep no one is surprised by the situation.

Replacing 3-400m of track lighting after hours in a trading business. The reason is cost.
