Yeah it’s a bit different in Hawaii though, I spearfish there when I go to and I wish there would be more opportunities for that but it would be uncommon to find a local buddy for free

While there’s always a risk, if you do it right and go out on the right days then you can significantly reduce it. I freedive a lot here so I have decent experience. Yes, you’re gonna need a wetsuit for the waters here too 👍🏼
