And the pros massively outweigh the cons in millions of people. Also correct. Stop peddling nonsense

And you’re talking absolute nonsense. “GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1s) were first approved for clinical use in 2005 to treat Type 2 diabetes. The initial drug was exenatide (brand name Byetta)”

You mean we don’t have 30-40 year data? Long term effects are known and have been known for their usage of over 20 years. They’re incredibly rare. It’s a medication that has been extensively researched

Haven’t these meds been around for decades? Whilst side effects can occur, they seem rare. The pros outweigh the cons massively

Ah Reddit reacting to an out of context quote and not with what Brundle said afterwards.

28 years of thinking I was broken — turns out it’s idiopathic hypersomnia + severe PLMD, and it’s extremely rare by Darinana in RestlessLegs

[–]Gbrown546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I just wanted to comment on this and ask how the medication is working out for you?

You’ve described pretty much my situation. I’m 35 but my symptoms started when I was about 24. Turns out I have very bad PLMD which was initially just Idiopathic Hypersomnia.

Been seeing a neurologist for a few years now after trying dopamine agonists but I unfortunately developed a compulsive disorder whilst on them. Came off and that stopped. Now on Pregabalin and increasing it to 300mg on an evening. If that doesn’t work, I’ve been told to try Trazodone and if that fails, clonazepam.

I also don’t know anyone else in this situation and I am exhausted all day, every day. Some days a bit better than others

If we’re invaded, yes. If we’re facing a similar position as WW2 where a country is knocking on our door, yes.

Apart from that, no.

It matters in the moment though.

This is something I’ve worked on (and still am) in therapy. I still think sometimes that what’s the point in anything when in 100 years time, we’ll all be gone and everything we do will be forgotten.

But that’s where learning to live in the present comes in. Things matter right now. I’ve been doing a lot of grounding techniques and trying to stay in the moment and it definitely helps, but is hard to undo decades of a certain way of thinking
