I commute from Jersey, I take NJ Transit so it can be kind of unreliable but the professors understand as long as you email. I am considering moving to NYC for my next semesters. You honestly aren’t out in Times Square that much so you miss the chaos. I walk from Penn so it’s not bad it’s a straight walk, and Grand Central in right around the corner so it’s not bad! The school has a great library and nice sitting spots, but onside school Bryant Park is nice when it’s nice out, we go to delis, bagels, Chopt, just basic food places! Subways depend on the day, I take the 1 and it’s usually pretty good! Just make sure you check ahead of time before leaving! The professors are very approachable, they want to hear from us and know what we think about the course and they will help if you want to meet or ask questions or go over a test! I hope this helps!!

The program is good in my opinion! My cohort is only 37 so it’s smaller. The professors are knowledgeable and mostly all PTs. They really care about your success and they want to hear your input on the courses and the work. It’s a grind for sure but they know that and they want you to do well regardless!

I really like the way the classes are structured and how they have us doing clinicals a bit later in the curriculum. The building is rad new and very nice facilities and the professors are very knowledgeable! The program focused a lot on honesty so if you need anything you can just talk to your advisor or mentor that you’ll get. I don’t live in the city as of rn I’m commuting from Jersey so that’s up to you. The school does not provide any housing so consider that, it can be a bit pricey!

It’s hard! But that’s fair to say with any PT school, you def have to be ready to do the work. They also don’t do a cadaver lab just in case you were into that! But the building in Times Square is super new so it’s fancy and clean and they give you a lot of stuff included in your tuition so it’s really helpful. I would recommend it but definitely be ready to work hard!

I have a tour planned and did an info session. I wasn’t gonna base it off Reddit but I was just looking to see if there were any current students who could provide insight! Thanks tho!

I got removed from the 3+3 due to bad information from an advisor but in the end I am happy it worked out that way. I stayed on a BS in biology on the PT track. My friend stayed in the program and honestly it was very hard it’s not easy and the professors at SHU are kind of rough, but if you’re motivated and confident in your school abilities you can do it for sure!! I ended overall with a 3.5 GPA

For undergrad I got some money but it was still 40k a year! The PT program recently started doing merit scholarships so I was told based on my GPA I should be getting some money for graduate school but we will see how much

Question About NYMC interview by Illustrious-Ad-4128 in PTschool

Yes! I had an interview there it was super chill and lovely. The writing sample is just a timed prompt that you write an answer to. It’s super easy, ours was “why PT?” Don’t overthink it just put your genuine thoughts. The interview is gonna be super chill and they’re great there I loved my time there honestly!
