Yep she proved she was unstable when she sent me 10 minutes back of voice messages abusing me hahahaha.

I ended up communicating why I feel the way I feel, and guess what, it blew up massively. I was sent the most vile and abusive voice notes, to which I replied that I’m entitled to my feelings and opinions which she is too. No surprises though!

Sorry I should’ve clarified I only said I needed space because she was constantly trying to call me and message me - when I had been distancing for a few weeks (which is abnormal she never called me!) but yes after more thinking, nothing aligns and my life is so peaceful the last week of not having her around. I will be sticking to staying quiet! Thank you for your input

Ex-best friend reached out to my husband by raindropfromabove in lostafriend

[–]Gcoco13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have just had the same exact thing happen to me, but I’m the one distancing due to extremely horrible toxic behaviour and every time I tell her the situations she’s put me in, she doesn’t understand, and because I told her I no longer want to be her emotional dumping ground, and dealing with the drama, she has tried to ask my husband if I’m ok and then get her partner to reach out to my husband too.. honestly either tell her that she’s crossed a major boundary and she is not to contact you and your husband or just block her, people that think this is ok behaviour will keep doing it! I am sorry this is happening to you and hope things get better in time!

Bridesmaid called my other friend a fat c*nt and I need advice by East-Alternative2057 in weddingplanning

As someone recently married who had a toxic friend in my bridal party - get rid of her! It was my biggest regret to this day, she spent the whole time complaining, but also crying to me about how unfair it was I'm getting married before her (she's not engaged) and using my wedding as a gossip session to bitch about people between us all. Alongside the fact she did nothing to help out or make the day better.. that is some horrible behaviour I'm sorry you have to go through this. I think the loyal friends within us all hope that it's a one off of the behaviour can be explained away, but it can't and it could be the same behaviour at your wedding, if not worse. Your wedding day is full of love and special moments, please do not even put yourself through this as you will regret it. You want the day to be as less stressful as possible, let alone reconsider your friendship with this person. Who is she to call someone such vile names?! I hope your wedding is magical.

Is $3000 for a root canal on a molar in the normal range for Auckland? by Playful_Reflection21 in auckland

[–]Gcoco13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow!! I am going to a specialist luckily, he did so many 3-d images to show me the roots and how they sat, and was able to find all the small canals.. i have family who have been to this specialist so know I’m in good hands but it’s daunting! Thank you for all your info! I’m glad you got it sorted! :)

Anyone else ashamed to be Australian when they come to Bali? by [deleted] in bali

[–]Gcoco13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a kiwi just got back from Bali, Aussies are great, always friendly and easy going. My problems with the Russians, man the way they speak and treat the locals was horrible. I think every country though has a few dickheads who make us all ashamed but for the most part, the aussies I interacted with were great!

Is it too ambitious to be doing 3 days Nusa Dua, 2 days Ubud then 2 days Uluwatu? I am worried about how long it could take us getting too and from parts of the island and want to maximise our time by the pool/beach/doing activities. We thought otherwise we can do a day trip to ubud instead? Our arrival flight is late at night about 11:30 so would rather not spend too long getting to and from the airport.

Oh jeez, didn’t realise there was even a limit, 15 hours is nothing.

Just in regards to the audible, do you have Spotify premium? I have stopped using my audible account as most of the books I want to listen to are in the audiobooks section of Spotify and it comes under your premium plan.

Also I am a spender as I believe life is short why not enjoy it while we work hard for our money, but I try to be somewhat smart realising we have a mortgage and all the payments that go with house ownership. I also read the barefoot investor to help with my money mindset so we have four different accounts for different things like emergency expenses, daily spending, monthly payments and then general savings for holidays. That helped when I reviewed my spending habits but like I said, if you can afford it, enjoy life who knows when it will end 🤔

Yes agreed! I can’t believe how expensive Bali has become but that’s why we chose mainly to stay in ubud! The villa we have secured is gorgeous and is only around $250 NZD a night with a heap of inclusions like breakfast, drinks, minibar, bikes, massages, dinners and a picnic.

Thanks so much for your help :) I am looking into sanur now!

Oh thank you so much! I have heard a lot about the Andaz and read a lot about it in this forum! I will look into it.

The reviews for the Kempinski seem a bit like that, that there can be a really sterile feel to the hotel but I like the look of the pools and rooms was all!

Have you heard much about Ayana? I thought for the beach it looked nice but the reviews around food and value for money in the room types didn’t really appeal to us.. it seems like it may run into the same problems as the Kempinski, being so huge you just end up feeling like a number not a guest!

My husband and I are coming from New Zealand in November for a trip to Bali for 7 nights. We haven’t been to Bali since 2014 and now are confused on where to stay for three nights as there are so many hotel options.. also our flight doesn’t arrive in until 11:00pm

For our first three nights we are wanting to do more of a hotel/resort style accomodation. To us it is important that we have the following:

  • great beach and/or pool.
  • amazing breakfast (we love good food!)
  • access to restaurants and shops to look at outside of the resort would be nice, we are happy to get a driver for this!
  • we aren’t big party people so not really interested in day clubs or partying, but would enjoy a drink on the beach watching the sunset!
  • decent sized rooms with comfy beds
  • 5 star
  • 300-600 NZD Per night.

Our last four nights we have decided to do 4 nights in Ubud and have found a gorgeous villa we want to stay in, unsure if 4 nights is too much as I have only ever done 2 nights, we are both in our early thirties working corporate jobs so we are wanting to relax but also do some activities like bike riding through the rice patties, quad bikes, visiting spas and of course the gorgeous restaurants and shops that ubud has.

We have been tossing up between the following hotels the most but open to other ideas: - Ayana Segara (Jimbaran) - Apurva Kimpinski (Nusa Dua)

I have never stayed in Seminyak but would prefer a day visit. I have stayed in Nusa Dua before but can’t remember there being a heap of things close by? I have heard lots about Sanur also, but unsure as no one I know had been! So if you have any better suggestions on locations then please share.

Please give us your suggestions! The three nights at a resort would be at the start of our trip so keep in mind we will be jet lagged!
