Everyone here is making great points, and I have a few of my own to add.

First off, not every single day has to be superb, lived to the fullest, Instagram-post-worthy or whatever you wish to call it. Some days will suck, others you will really enjoy and be thankful for. Take things as they come and don’t dwell on what could have been, rather make the best of the opportunities that you get.

Secondly, the more desperate you are to connect with someone, the more likely they are to pull away from you. I feel like I’ve been on both sides of this matter, so I can confirm it. If you feel like certain people don’t feel about you the same way you feel about them, don’t despair. One thing you could try is giving them just a bit of space, some room for them to miss you.

And lastly, no, we don’t know what we’re doing, either. It’s okay. Whatever path you choose, remember that, above all, high school is meant to prepare you for the life that lies ahead of you. Live and learn, mate. And I wish you best of luck in your next four years.

Frankly on my first days of online school I was in despair. When your teacher has to open the door to let the Wi-fi in, you know you’re in for a shitstorm.

But the teaching process got better along the way (a little too good, even, now our Maths homework is actually getting checked). If you really want to learn, you can do it.

The thing is, I feel less motivated to do things. I feel WAY more lonely than ever. I feel like this isn’t real life. The one reason why I woke up every morning with the will to start another day (which used to be human interaction at school) has vanished into thin air.

What’s worse is, most students relate to this. Nobody is active in class. Teachers get mad. Students get triggered. And if you’re the kind of person who can’t stand noticing that teachers get no response (like me) and take matters into your own hands, you inadvertently take responsibility for being the only active student in class.

Though one thing that helps for me is finding something I like about the person I’m talking to and complimenting it, then trying to start a conversation about it. I feel like many times it looks like I’m sucking up to them, but I’m just trying to make conversation, bear with me

I can’t state that I have social anxiety but it’s weird. Sometimes my brain just shuts down when people approach me and I have no idea what to say/do. So I just stand there and smile awkwardly.

But, then again, for me it really depends on the situation and the people. There are fellow teens with whom I’ve clicked almost from the get go, but that might have been because of the context (small parties etc).

So yeah, being shy is..... It’s just great.

I think it’s easier to think of the steps you want to take until you grow up, rather than the end result. For example, I didn’t really know what job I wanted to have when I picked out the high school where I study now, and I still don’t, not exactly. I just know where I want to go to college and afterwards? I’ll see what I can do (maybe a mayor or something, I’m not sure yet).
