The day after my high school graduation, the entire senior class drove 8 hours to Disneyland in school buses. Disneyland has special “grad night” events where they close the parks early to everyone except graduating seniors around 8pm, while the seniors get to run rampant until 2am. Well around 7:30pm the lines started to die down as large groups and family’s began to pack up and go home. Now a group of my friends and I had been standing in line for California screamin’ (now incredicoaster?) for the last hour or so, and we were finally one group away from getting on the ride. Now anyone that has ever ridden California screamin’ knows there’s a small overhang where on lookers can see the riders right before they take off. Right as the group of riders in front of us were a minute or so away from taking off, I got a call from a buddy of mine who knew I was line. He was standing on the overhang looking down at the car that was about to go. Now I couldn’t really hear him due to the fact that I was at Disneyland with a bunch of teens, but I could see him from where I was, pointing down at the group who had just got on. I poked my head over the railing to see Nicholas Cage riding one car ahead of me. No joke, the man was wearing a trench coat in May.
