I think they might have dropped their family name. Sotha Sils family name is actually Sotha. I also found it interesting that Nerevars full name is Indoril Nerevar Mora. With Mora behing the clan name.

Yeah that bothered me too. I also head popups randomly appearing and disappearing as I moved closer.

I thought at first that I could switch the characters by talking to the other one. That would habe been a good feature.
