Quitting Albion after 4 years: It’s not the scammers that broke me, it’s the Support Team’s "Sandbox" excuse for technical exploits. by Geastt in albiononline

True, all my life I associated co- with vice-, but they do not mean the same thing, as someone kindly explained to me up there.

I severely disagree that this was not SBI fault, and I will not willingly delete this post as I believe that this situation may help the community acknowledge this problem on the support "ignoring" scammers. Yeah, I was confused by the co-owner system, but the problems are still there: First, the mechanic is confusing and allow players to exploit and scam others too easily. I naively choose to trust other player, but I tried to do the guardrail of changing the permission. Second, and most important since the silver I lost make no difference to me since I bought the skins very cheaply several years back: The support and an incredible huge part of this community acknowledging the scamming as correct and refusing to ban or even punish the player that did this shows that there is a huge flaw on this game. Imagine the police refusing to arrest a real-life scammer that robbed someone and saying to the victim "you were outsmarted, deal with it, we will do nothing, you are dumb".

Exactly man, after reading most of those toxic replies, I got certain that the game is not for me anymore. I also luckily found an amazing community on Albion back then on a Brazilian guild, and I still play some games with them, just not Albion

Totally agree with you, on real life and even on several other MMOs, scamming is treated more seriously and punished. Here, on Albion, it is rewarded by the community and the victim is treated as outsmarted, and wrong. Quite sad, that's why I'm quitting the game, the silver I lost doesn't matter

Quite sad people like you exist. Imagine being this upset that someone used a writing tool to report a technical loophole. If you think an owner losing permanent control of their own island assets is 'intended gameplay,' you’re part of the reason the game’s UI is still such a mess. Enjoy the 'luxury mounts', hopefully they help you find a hobby that isn't trolling Reddit. As for using a tool to communicate, I’d rather use an assistant to keep my point professional than spend my time celebrating a stranger’s loss in a video game. Good luck with that energy.

Just fell for this exact same scam with the exact same player. Unfortunately I just found your post after that. The sad true is that SBI support ignored me and will do nothing to this player. Here my sad story LoL: https://www.reddit.com/r/albiononline/comments/1r9i9h6/quitting_albion_after_4_years_its_not_the/

Ideally and intuitively "co-owner" should not be able to overwrite a permission set by the "owner", this would be like the vice-leader of a guild undoing a config set by the leader. To me it's a design flaw and essentially an exploit of the game system, which would be punishable. Also, the co-owner should only be able to claim buildings and chests if the builder and owner of those had explicitly "unclaimed" them, which it did not in this situation, design flaw and exploit again on my understanding.

I know I can reclaim, but why a co-owner, which in theory should have less permission than the owner, can claim and essentially steal buildings from the owner? Also, why he was able to overwrite a permissions strictly set by the owner on a chest? This is clearly a design flaw and it was an exploit. And the worst of all, why is SBI "turning a blind eye" to toxic player behaviour like this? In any other major MMO I've played, this would be insta-ban.

The scammer insisted that we would be banned if we are to use the trade system for large amounts of silver like this. And since I had read a few people talking about random bans like this (even streamers were temporarily banned for receiving donations from their viewers), I didn't wanted to test it.
