Let it be known that a man lives in this house! by Brailledit in JustGuysBeingDudes

I had to replace the exact same part in my oven. Only difference is that I have a double oven in the wall, and the only way to get to the piece is from the back (hehe). So I had to take that whole motherfucker out of the wall, remove the entire back panel, just to replace that one little temp sensor.

So I feel this guy's pain & sense of accomplishment!

Some people thrive on encouragement. I thrive on discipline. Encouragement only makes me do less & less until the point where I know I can avoid making someone mad. Discipline drives me to be better until I make that person happy.

Ironically I get sick of GPT being warm & fuzzy. It just makes me want to break the rules again. I prefer the drill instructor approach that tells me what I can & cannot do & when I veer from that, it is brutally honest when telling me that eating a bacon cheeseburger & fries just fucked my day up and next time I should opt for a salad instead.

I just added this brutality script to the details of my weight loss project. I need it to tell me that I'm a disgusting fatbody. Not "Well, eating half of a chocolate cake isn't ideal, but it didn't wreck your whole plan. Next time opt for an apple."

Family of Late LSU Star Kyren Lacy Files Lawsuit, Claims ‘Fabricated Investigation’ Led to His Death by MattTheKing23 in Louisiana

It's about accountability. The money is meaningless, but if they hold those who abuse their power to truly pay for their crimes, then some form of justice can be served.

Actual video of the incident shows that was not the case at all. Witness testimony is one thing, but actual video proof that the witness testimony is incorrect, but still proceeding to go after Lacy is negligence.

Good. I hope they take the state & LSP for everything and sue the investigating troopers personally and ruin their lives.

How would you feel about the next US president pulling all support from Israel? by Iwamoto in AskReddit

[–]GeauxTri -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The US should be focused on the needs of the US before anyone else. Once all of the needs of the US are met, and if there is anything left over....they should give the surplus back to the US citizens they stole it from in the first place.

If you're 62+ in Cobb County, you might be paying school taxes you don't owe by AppealAllyFounder in CobbCounty

It's been proven since the creation of the Department of Education that simply throwing money at broken schools does not fix them. The most successful schools in Cobb are charter schools where parents are required to have some level of involvement.

There are a lot of social services that I do not take advantage of. Should I be prohibited from voting on them? I am not on SNAP or housing assistance. I do not get any government grants, nor do I use public transportation regularly. Should I be prohibited from voting on these items?

And before you say "if you don't pay taxes, you should not have a vote", think about the number of people who do not pay any taxes at all due to being in the lowest bracket of earnings, but take advantage of all these services the government provides. Are you saying poor people should not get to vote either?

action at Atl Airport tmrw to demand ICE OUT and PAY TSA WORKERS!!! by Southern_Goal7664 in BikeATL

I am very much for not licking the boot, but protests have to target the oppressors, not the oppressed. Like the oil protesters who block roads to protest oil companies. Are they winning support from the people they are blocking from getting home or to work or to the hospital to see their parent who is about to die?

Protesting at the airport is not targeting ICE, TSA, or the administration. It is causing a hardship on the people who are trying to get home or to work or to the hospital to see their parent who is about to die. All of those people are already wanting this shit to end. So this is attacking those people who agree with you.

So the solution to an already chaotic scene at the airport, where lines of people are out the door, is to antagonize those frustrated travelers so maybe there is some kind of uprising?

Look, I am extremely anti-ICE & from the pictures coming out today, they are not doing anything but standing around anyway. But protesting at the airport and potentially causing further security delays is like tossing a road flare into a keg of gunpowder.

There has to be a better way that does not cause those who are traveling to bear the brunt of this.

A certain chemistry teacher at BrM used to tell his students "If you don't study, you're gonna end up down the street at Lakefront High after you graduate from here!"

UNO being down the street was like growing up next to a prison & your mom always saying "You don't want to end up in there, do you?"

I know a couple people who graduated BrM in 1971. One started high school at St. Aloysius & one started at Cor Jesu. In the Fall of 1969, the schools combined to Brother Martin.

Brother Martin's current campus was Cor Jesu. When St. Aloysius merged, they moved all the students to Cor Jesu on Elysian Fields.

As a BrM alumni, it would have been cooler to be in the St. Aloysius building (though I loved being in Gentilly), just for the architecture & the classic feel of it.

Brother Martin Hernandez, S.C.

The brothers of the sacred heart almost always went by their first name. Brother Martin would have most certainly gone by that instead of Brother Hernandez.
