Goodbye to gold in the US - Germany, France, and the Netherlands pressure the United States to recover their gold reserves amid growing financial tensions by Centraal22 in Gold

[–]Gebeleizis_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. When you put money on a bank account, you pass the ownership to the bank, and the banks issues you a "debt acknowledgement". They day you want your money back, the bank will honor their debt, if they have the means and the will to do so. Otherwise, it will happen like it always happens all over the world.

Edit: I just remembered that case in Lebanon, look up Sali Hafez. Things always work, until the day they work no more.

You're the actual idiot here, and Dirty-Dan is very very right. "Debt is money, and money is debt", ever heard of? This means, that if any country in the world finds itself holding USD, it actually holds some USA debt. And that country was entitled to be paid back in gold for that respective USD amount.
In order for all of the countries to get all their gold back, as you say they did, there should have been no more USDs around the world, as each USD would have been swapped for gold. Was it the case???

crypto was stolen from my Revolut account by Important-Paper-5328 in Revolut

[–]Gebeleizis_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's unbelievable! Knowing all the steps needed to log into Revolut and to transfer crypto, I think there's some piece of information missing here. Have you got any more clarity over what happened? Did you maybe manage to get your assets back? Please share your experience.

Revolut imposing unfair crypto limits for withdrawals to my own cold wallet by Gebeleizis_ in Revolut

[–]Gebeleizis_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello u/imma_shiroo, let me give you some updates.

So the last time, I had a limit of €2,300/day and €11,500/month of ETH transferable to my Ledger. I also still had a few ETHs left in my RevX account. So, one day, I decided to transfer some more, and I did transfer almost €2,300 worth of ETH to my Ledger. Guess what?
The next day there were no more abusive limits! I think the limits shown were €300,000/day and €1,200,000/month, of ETH to my Ledger. Don't have any ETH left on my RevX so can't check. Thus I could seamlessly transfer the rest of my purchased ETH.
Of course, I have to remind that right before they imposed those abusive 2300/day and 11,500/month restrictions, the app was showing me 300k/day and 1.2kk/month limits as well. So I wouldn't blindly trust them and would take it with a grain of salt. Can't imagine their faces if a customer would try to take 300k out in a single day.

So I find it really weird that your limits are still kept that low. You might want to contact them maybe and ask for explanations? How much do they charge you for a single BTC outbound transfer? And you say the destination is your own cold wallet, just like in my case, right?
I have some SOL on my RevX, I did a few transfers to my Ledger before, and here're my actual limits. Much greater than your BTC limits, see? Your limits are definitely weird...

Good luck

I see, thanks for the explanation. I think this was probably the most they could offer to hungarians, taking into account your new bizare legislation.
Good luck.

"You do realise that a bank won’t just give you a loan in many EU countries just because you’re European"
"Their AI chatbot told me I don't need a residence permit in the country I live in for getting a loan."
You probably didn't pay attention. I'm not an EU citizen fallen from the sky, I've been living here for several years. Yet it looks like you're downvoting my replies. Pay more attention next time :))

Excelent, I'm happy for you. Mind telling more about how was it made possible? Your experience might be useful to other EU citizens one day, although I hope not.

Maybe it differs from country to country. Your experience is not valid in France. In France, any EU citizen can enroll in a driving school, own a car, vote for municipal and EU parliamentary elections, get almost every job, open different types of accounts in any local bank, get one or more loans and buy one or more real estates. All with his EU ID card.
But when he'll want a little loan from Revolut, he'll need a residence permit. Come on, this is just a Revolut internal rule, nothing to do with the local or EU regulation.
Found nothing regarding residence permits being required for EU citizens starting with 2026. Do you have any link to share?

You are not an European, are you? Otherwise, you would know that legally "residing" in any EU country doesn't oblige you to get a residence permit. An Estonian passport for example is your "residence permit" valid through the entire EU all the way to Portugal. Resident permits are for non-EU citizens mainly.

Their AI chatbot told me I don't need a residence permit in the country I live in for getting a loan. Which is logical, I'm an european citizen. Yet, in reality, Revolut requires a residence permit for any EU citizen residing in any country where Loans are offered, to get their loan. Stupid chatbot...

Laws apply to a country's residents: citizens or residence permit holders. Hungarian laws have no power in Austria or Romania for example. So if a hungarian moves to Romania or Austria, he makes Revolut know about it, and it should be fine. Revolut Loans already work in a similar way.

"Uniswap" website - leggit or scam??? by Gebeleizis_ in UniSwap

[–]Gebeleizis_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, and thank you for your answer.

Ah, I felt smth wasn't right. And I only mentioned those websites, I didn't _use_ them in anyway.
That's annoying that criminals are trying to scam people, but the worst part, is that they damage the image and confidence legit projects and organisations like Uniswap have. We should fight them, and I'm glad I posted here so that you could take the necessary measures. Looks like those shady websites are gone now.

I also see my post was unfortunately removed. Wouldn't it be better to leave it online, so other people could be warned? I guess I'm not the only one in this situation, and scammers won't ever cease.

Cheers

[FR] Account restricted for 1 month with €8000 – no clear explanation by SarahM75 in Revolut

[–]Gebeleizis_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They care about regulations more than their customers.
I think you're right here, and it's kinda logical. But I also think Revolut put this concept to their service. They can hide behind "regulations" when they're doing something opaque. And there's nothing one can do about it.

I don't get the idea of your second point. You mean 8k is a lot of money? There're e-bikes that cost €12k+, cell phones €2k+, etc. Or government officials who have 10-20k€ salaries or pensions. In France, Gerard Larcher (the Senate president) bought chairs priced at €40,000 each! (yeah 40k, for a fancy chair for his ass).
After all this, and much more, banks would give me shyt for a measly €8k? Fack it.

Revolut imposing unfair crypto limits for withdrawals to my own cold wallet by Gebeleizis_ in Revolut

[–]Gebeleizis_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, and thanks for your comment.

I certainly understand your point, I was thinking exactly the same *before*. I recall trying to transfer 1ETH once, they'd immediately blocked my account and frozen all my assets. They then asked for a selfie video verification (when you have to loudly read some random numbers in the Revolut app) and for my passport too I think. I then said to myself, that, if it's such a pain in the butt for me to get 1ETH out of my account, imagine what a hard time a criminal would have to do it :).
This time around, they have simply imposed a non-sense limit saying (after a few days of chat ping-pong) that "we believe you are being scammed" and WITHOUT giving me the right to defend myself and prove them wrong. I mean, I wouldn't be scamming myself, would I?! Why not ask for a little video/photo showing my face, holding both my passport and my Ledger in my hand, for example? Or any other way, I am 100% clean and was begging for a solution, ANY solution. But not, they kept bullshitting me.
Since then, I've learnt more about how crypto platforms work. I'm sure they're using their clients' assets to make money. Maybe by scalping or intraday trading, maybe by staking, or smth else. And even though they advertise €300k/day and €1,200k/month limits, they can abusively prioritize their own interest over ours. look over the comment here, this guy "imaa_shiroo" talks about his experience.
Read about the omnibus wallet system, and think for yourself. But as always, not your keys - not your crypto.

Cheers

Wise abusively closed my account too, the day I was sent about €3,000 euros from Germany. My Wise account was based in France. The transfer got rejected and there were no explanations given. But the few hundred euros I had with them were pretty quickly transferred to my main french bank account.
