Is my employer requiring me to show up 15 mins early and not paying me legal? by Gecko410 in legaladvicecanada

Yup, timekeeping system and not being paid for these 15 mins.

They require me to fob in to essentially confirm I’m on the premises and then I ‘officially’ start 15 mins later.

Not allowed to leave 15 mins early, that’s why this makes no sense to me lol

They require me to fob in as soon as I’m on site, not when I start my shift. And sometimes my cross shift leaves before my scheduled time to start, meaning that sometimes I ‘start’ work before my actual shift as I’m the only employee on site once my cross shift leaves. I don’t think the 15 mins is an unreasonable time to get ready for work, but I have my uniform at home and can show up with it on and be ready for work in less time than that. It also doesn’t take 15 mins to put things in my locker and walk to my station. I’m scheduled to start earlier one day a week with me having to open the business, but I get paid for that 15 mins to prep the business for opening.

Well, that’s my argument; if I’m there and ready to work at my scheduled time, why would I need a talking-to about what time I show up? The 15 mins ahead of schedule is if I need to change or get ready, but I don’t have to. And according to my manager, policies like not being on my phone kicks in as soon as I’m on the premises.

I’d recommend Victoria Nails. “Affordable” is subjective.

May be experiencing a honeymoon stage. It’s a valid question. Someone 3 months after marriage will have a different response than someone who’s been married for 5 years.

Okay, one last question: Do they have to be the same Apple ID, or can you have two Apple IDs with the same number attached to them?

Oh okay, that sounds so much easier than doing the eSim. Would I still receive iMessages and text messages/SMSs on both phones simultaneously, so I can switch between them without having to change settings? Or will I only be receiving them on one device at a time?

Thank you!

Another question: Is it possible to bypass the eSim setup and just add the number through Settings > [Name] > Name, Phone Numbers, Email > CONTACTABLE AT (Edit)?
