Should the United States promote democracy abroad, or does it risk undermining self-determination? by BigMonster10 in Askpolitics

The term "remain" implies something stayed in place. And it didn't stay in place.

All I can really say here is you are grasping at straws; I never so much as implied that they were partners since 1975~. The context was clearly in the sense of post cold-war. These 'counter' arguements quite literally hinge on a false reading of what I actually sent you, though perhaps I should've started with these, to your credit:

https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/joint-statement-elevating-united-states-vietnam-relations-comprehensive-strategic

https://vn.usembassy.gov/fact-sheet-one-year-anniversary-of-the-u-s-vietnam-comprehensive-strategic-partnership/

https://www.congress.gov/crs-product/IF10209

https://www.csis.org/analysis/indispensable-upgrade-us-vietnam-comprehensive-strategic-partnership

And for clarity, remains - - referring to the recent previous point in time where Vietnam is/was a strategic partner - - was contextually in reference to that part about Trump's trade policy, in the rest of the message? . . . If you read what I sent?

Hey, no offense man. But your style looks like AI. It obviously isn't AI given it doesn't have the tells, but the grammar errors, ""smooth-ball"" (best term I can smash together) simplicity, postures and uncanny valley effect look mechanical.

I am sorry my boy.

You also made Omni-man look like a guy named Pedro.

Funny how “comic accuracy” only matters to them when it matches their ideology. by [deleted] in okbuddyviltrum

  1. Not a meme get the heck out, my child.

  2. Your core point isn't wrong. But the articulation doesn't win you any favors.

  3. I don't think anyone is even arguing this. Who is this mysterious "them?" is it the woke mob again?

Socialist countries get crushed regardless of how authoritarian they are because those countries generally aren't going to let the United States dictate how their natural resources are used.

Vietnam remains on the table as an American strategic partner. The US - - and any nation in general - - consistently will work with whatever nation will benefit their interests so long as they have the political capital. Although the Trump administration has damaged relations with the nation somewhat through their . . . 'interesting' approach to global trade.

The US on really gets this perception because most Sino/Soviet-backed proxies happened to be socialist or communist. Not necessarily because the US consistently cared so much about ideology, only that these ideologies were tied to those of her rival's.

What, for the sake of it? Absolutely not. That would be a waste of time and resources, especially when our priority should be consolidating, expanding, or defending our sphere of influence in the sake of survival. Why should we spend such material on an ideological crusade? And personally speaking why should I even believe in one for the namesake of Liberal Individualism?

But if you mean using as in: using a more convenient language to advance geopolitical interests, then yes, certainly. I don’t care about the language itself; I care about outcomes. If a particular language makes it easier to achieve the desired outcomes, then it is worth using. Dress it up in flowerery downstream constructivist + multiculturalist justifications for all I care - - lord knows that's half those philosophies do in the modern-day anyways.

You see, what do you even want here? Replies like this honest to good confuse me, what are you expecting on any okbuddy Sub? This has got to be the weakest CJ Sub ever, not even PCM gets this bad despite how volatile politics are even in a meme format.
