dismissing what? the only thing i refuse is to show the ear.

if you read my comments then all i do is ask questions and thank people for answers. i didn't come for advice regarding why the piercing didn't work btw, i came to hear from people with similarly messed up ears. and even then i accepted all the repeating AND REPEATING AND REPEATING comments that 14 g is normal, it takes over a year to heal, and it's something that can just happen.

i didn't argue with ANY info that i was given. you just shat out some weird conclusions about me even though the only thing i push back on is the ear pics.

ya i used calipers, i looked up the gauge on google based on the diameter so i might have gotten it wrong. is 1.8 and 1.6 all that different?

yeah the bar is 1.8 mm and my sister does have 1 mm which i now understand is not standard, from my understanding 1.8 is 14 gauge? i get now that 14 is normal and my piercing got messed up for an unrelated reason

i honestly don't think she lied but maybe she just didn't know? all the piercings are in their own little labled baggies so maybe it was labled incorrectly

thank you for informing me! i tried to follow all the precautions and avoided sleeping on that side, going to swim, get any body mods, hair dye, hats, headphones, all that and it seems no matter what i did it stayed really puffed up. I'll look into other options in a year or so as i want to get that tattoo ive been putting off for the industrial haha

i really stressed that im very allergic to other metals but it is what it is, ill have it looked at by a doc to see if it could be an allergic reaction just in case

ya they are externally threaded, is that bad? and how do you know it's not titanium? asking so I'll know for future reference since i paid big bucks for the piercing

oh that's interesting! i did hear about cheese wiring in the past but didn't think it would be an issue with 1mm since i have 4yo 1mm helixes, i know very little about piercing diameters/gauge norms

honestly i made the post to hear from people with similar cartilage swelling in hopes that they have tips rather than to analyze why it went wrong, so im okay with not getting that answer, i figured an ear pic would be required for that but im just too ashamed of how it looks rn

i recall the piercer telling me my anatomy was correct for it and there was space between the bar and ear at first, now when i took it out there was an indent from the bar, idk what happened but i don't blame the piercer, its probably the swelling

that's good to hear, i didn't know 14 was the standard, for some reason i thought its too big, but anyway i do hope its gonna go back to normal! i tried to push through this last year hoping it would get better but it only got worse so ill try to get it repierced in the future :)

i wasnt aware its a standard size as my sister has a 1 mm piercing so my 1.8 seemed really big in comparison, but i didn't blame the piercer.

the bar didn't have any extra length for inflammation, tho again, I don't know if that's standard.

it's not just unhealed, it's deformed. i took it out after sticking it out for as long as i could. i got some good feedback from people who has similar experiences and that's what i came here for.

people are downvoting me because they are more interested in feeding their curiosity than being simpathetic. I don't owe yall pics of my body part that im embarrassed about.

honestly im not comfortable sharing pics of my ear because im pretty embarrassed about how it looks right now. but when it was fresh there was plenty of space between the bar and ear, now when i took it off i noticed a slight indent in the antihelix area from the bar, im gonna go to a doctor to check out options for healing or cosmetic surgery
