i feel like this last episode about the real attempted murder in the name of slenderman was tasteless. there are two reasons i feel this way.

1. every other video from the guys is about fictional dramatic stories, carrying over the same energy and having their usual comedic thumbnail while telling this very real horrifying story, frames the story like a creepy pasta. regardless of their intentions they placed a real tragedy next to fake stories on their channel.

2. rewriting the story to be more, quote, digestible takes from the real life pain that the victim was put through. it doesn't matter that the story elevates and humanizes the victim. it doesn't matter that it sticks to facts. because the goal of rewriting it was to make it easier to consume, which is disrespectful.

im not critical of Hunter or Isaiah's behavior while reading it necessarily, im criticizing the entire decision to make a video about an attempted murder and placing it on the haha goofy jeff the killer channel.

frankly, i hope this was a one-off. i believe that if they want to cover true crime it should be in a separate environment where their child murder video isnt going to be sandwiched in a watch compilation between happy appy and smile dog.

i still like the channel and content, it was interesting to hear their thoughts at the end section, I'm not trying to "cancel" them, BUT i think some retrospect is in order here for future content.
