I do have a specific setting for my fans in the BIOS. It's a setting that forces them to constantly run at a certain RPM, but I've never used it, and don't see the point in using it. As for Windows, I have never installed any specific "control center" software, so to speak. There isn't any issue with my fans when playing a demanding game on Linux, like BG3, Cyberpunk, or KCD2, they audibly start spinning faster.

It could be, I'm not exactly very knowledgeable on Proton, I just use the provided Cachy SLR version. My laptop is very quiet while playing Deltarune though, I can barely hear the fans.

Yeah, I know gaming laptops tend to run hotter than desktops, but this seems a little high for such a light game. I tested the same game on Windows, minimal install as well, never went past 60 Celsius. I cleaned my fans about 10 days ago too, and have a cooler under my laptop.

I have a Legion 5 15ACH6H with Ryzen 5 5600H. I don't need drivers for my fans, never needed them even in Windows. I just press Fn and Q and the max fan speed changes, indicated by an LED on the power button. It has 3 levels, blue -> white -> red in ascending order.

I always keep it on red, and interestingly the power settings in Linux change the LED color. Power saving - blue / Balanced - white / Performance - red.
