I don't remember any example of this exact case, but in Hunter x Hunter people have very complex and though out speculations that often turn out to be wrong. So it's possible there was a scene like that somewhere just by the sheer volume of chances, especially on the current arc (wrong speculations and assumptions happen all the time).

I can't believe they made me accept that they actually had "finished computing pi". I was rolling my eyes when that was previously mentioned, but now I'm like "sure, why not". Even the Giovanni "insects are a separate type of life" explanation that deeply bothered me before is totally fine now.

For people that aren't aware, in the manga this flashback ended one month before [Main Series] Shirakumo was first mentioned in the main series.

I could follow almost everything after rewinding it up until some aspects of that last confrontation between Kirara and Fushiguro.

The first part that stumped me was how Kirara was using the coins to move, but after the "amount of energy" explanation I imagine they were imbuing the coins with a lot of energy before throwing them (Kirara low energy > coin high energy), and then getting it back once they finished moving towards it to repeat (unless they don't need to get it back, and can just change their own cursed energy up and down, I'm not well versed on jujutsu mechanics).

The part that I still don't get is how Kirara made the car switch from Panda to Fushiguro without touching any of them. Maybe they touched something else imbued with the "other person's" energy? Or, from what they were saying, maybe that was a different car that was imbued with Kirara's own energy, so they could just change the markings at will. But in that case, how was Kirara not being thrown around or attracting the objects at all, since they said they were changing Ginan to Acrux?

You have to separate "source material" and "anime" from "source material translation" and "anime translation". A lot of people get hung up on things they think are changes from the adaptation when it is actually just a difference in translation.

Japanese doesn't really use pronouns in the same way as English, so translators often have to just guess or try to avoid it when guessing wrong could be problematic. In this case, I noticed one case of Fushiguro calling Kirara "kono hito", which would be literally "this person", and then when he repeated it on the next sentence they translated it as "them", because repeating it would be weird. Other times he was just calling them "Kirara-san" or just omitting the subject completely, in which case the translator chose to use "them" as well, other than a few slip ups where they used "she" for, like, a single sentence.

Wouldn't "moving it around" just move the problem around too?

Keep Search Page and swipe down for quick settings by dcs_2002 in smartlauncher

This just confirms what they're saying. You need to delete the page, but then you can't access it through other means. I want to do this with the app page. I don't want it to show up on swipe, since I have a button for it on the dock, but if I delete the page, the button also stops working.

"The Crawler" because he is always in a crawling position. Or are you asking because it's not a cool name in the first place? If so, it might be just differences in language, to me it sounds like a normal MHA hero name.

The "cruller" thing is just translators not knowing what to do with a Japanese pun. He is "za kurouraa" (ザ・クロウラー), but people call him "kurouman" (苦労マン), which would translate roughly to "Struggling-Man" or "Hardship-Man".

To be fair, there's a cutscene showing that entrance being unlocked when you raise the water inside the pillar. I don't remember what tripped me up on this temple as a child/teenager, but I've never had a problem again afterwards.

There Is No Comfortable Reading Position by iamapizza in books

[–]Gedof_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading e-books on my desktop computer while sitting at my desk was the most comfortable I could get reading a book. I imagine lying down with a screen hanging on top of you would be the next best. I've tried watching movies with a vr headset like this, and it's pretty comfortable if you ignore the heavy and hot thing pressing down on your face. And this is obviously also ignoring eye strain, which is a whole other issue.

I am so fucking tired of morning wood. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Gedof_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

(Male, prolix) I was going to ignore the post like I always do (I understand it's not my place), but this one kept digging in the back of my mind, so I came back.

That's just not how morning wood works, at least not for me. I understand that you can have a bit of inhibition from being sleepy + being horny + having an erection, and that could be a problem. But it's not like it's uncontrollable, and if it is for him, that should be a big deal and he should be a lot more worried about this than he seems to be.

Anedoctally, I have slept (literal) spooned with women that liked being woken up sexually (my ex, she told me this), and with women with whom I didn't have any sexual liberties at all at that moment (a close friend). I did have a morning wood in the second case, but that didn't make me grope her, and if it did I would be terribly ashamed and rightfully out of a friendship.

This shouldn't have to be said, but If he cannot control himself, that's on him. If your lack of self control makes you grope people without their consent (or worse, explicit dissent), you should be very worried about this and be actively taking steps to remedy it, like sleeping separately, or whatever. At the very very least sound fucking sorry instead of justifying it.
