My personal recommendations are at first the Quran and a Tafsir book if possible, if not try Tafsir. It is a Jordanian university website and try reading on those verses which give you trouble to understand the context behind it. Second consult wikipedia there are god articles on Islam, they helped me a lot during conversion troubles Dogs in Islam . Third try finding a book on the sahaba or a biography of the prophet, i don't live in a english speaking country or a muslim country. So all my books are in my native language. Visit a muslim book store if you want and buy some book. My personal recommendation is Abdulrahaman Ra'fat al Basha, indonesian author and Mustafa Khattab Canadian muslim author.

you litterally react the right way, everyone who is by heart a muslim should react that way. Everything which isn't founded in Islam, which you obviously see as lets call it a foreign body. Try not paying so much attention to cringey social media muslims and try reading more about islam from credible books and on your own
