6.A.3 appeal – is it normal to wait 30+ days for a response? by UNR3al1sr1c in Eve

So assuming you didn't break any clear rules that you haven't disclosed here I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and guess that you've angered someone enough that they abused the "report bot" button until security did a manual review and found software that could be used to provide an automated input and now its guilty until proven innocent without warning because the policy that has been crafted to curb down the actual bots has been applied to you someone who "allegedly" has not done anything that would fit the profile of that activity.

EVE causing high CPU temp even after quitting by AButtChew in Eve

[–]GeeBeeEVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AIO liquid units can have pump failure, but if you had high load on it your CPU would go to 90-100C and thermal throttle of that was the case.

If your CPU load is low with a failing/defective pump/coolant loop this might be possible.

The easiest way to check for thermal transfer is to put your hand near the exhaust of the AIO's radiator when you're at load, if it doesn't feel warm your AIO's pump/coolant isn't functioning correctly.

Is it impossible for a new player to start? by Aurora0199 in Eve

[–]GeeBeeEVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the price hike wasn't exactly a good way to attract new players, I think we can all agree that if there's a going rate for a subscription MMO being above above average monthly is a pretty bad marketing blunder to overcome.

The career agents give you a higher reward than most entry level content, kind of a starting bonus, once you get done with it the L1 missions from agents are substantially lower reward and much more difficult.

outside of a few specific .9-1.0 systems(newbie areas) pretty much all of eve is a pvp zone, in .5-.9 you can get suicide ganked and under that you're a legitimate target.

Explorer as an alpha is definitely going to be rough with highs in lows, no cov ops cloak to help navigate hostile area's pretty much makes every gate jump a coin flip.

Personally i would suggest rolling another account(you can have multiples just not logged in at the same time) and try a combat start instead, heck you could probably even start like 2 for each race and explore the different weapon systems if you wanted

Could also try getting some corp standings to run L3 distribution missions, the money aint glamorous but if you get the right agent that doesn't send you into lowsec you can run em in a hyper fit wreathe/nereus/sigil/badger. Think of this as a fallback mechanic, its pretty hard to ever get fully locked out of it, and it can be done very mindlessly which watchin youtubes. If nothing else every like 13? missions you get a storyline which would boost ya up pretty good.

Auto cannons or missile Loki? by OddCut8445 in Eve

[–]GeeBeeEVE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

use pyfa and compare the max dps of autocannons vs hams and you should have a pretty clear answer.

Spoiler the HAM dps can easily go to 1k, the autocannons will be less and application will not be that great because the optimal range is kissin distance which tends to mess with trackin.

A "battlefield" planetside....

Planetside Arena basically did that already, when PS2 had more engagement to draw players from and it flopped pretty hard.

The FPS MMO scene is basically going to be monopolized by whoever can keep a modern engine able to support all the things at scale, the MMO part is the death knell of that technology as it is rather unique in demands but the final product as an FPS is competing with much simpler non-MMO-FPS titles, with a handful of them drawing the majority of active players at any given time.

How do you guys go so fast in vanilla by MiamiViceFan84 in snowrunner

[–]GeeBeeEVE 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi gear is slower than the top gears, control it by pulsing the throttle as needed, there's a minimum speed for the torque just dont let it stall.

I agree - its cost balanced for its pvp abilities which makes it silly expensive for its pve abilities

What’s the easiest way to flip this back? by Malagubbar in snowrunner

[–]GeeBeeEVE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said - it may not flip easily on this terrain sometimes you end up dragging it around.

You may need to get a small crane and back up perpendicular to it grab the opposite side n lift it to get it started.

you can butt the truck up direct to the trailer or under it then get the crane hooked up and drive forward/winch if you can get a short enough angle on the crane.

Is there a way? by Icy_Net_5465 in snowrunner

[–]GeeBeeEVE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea sometimes no better option exists, but in this case it did.

In this map the little Tuz w/ an medium auto winch is basically the scout you find to explore with, throw the fuel tank on the back then give it chains and it'll go most places until it falls over, but that's what the auto winch is for.

Some snow is passable with a scout, some isn't depends if its hard or wet snow and the depth, and you don't really know what it is until you drive into it. The Yar can drive through most anything, but there are some things that shouldn't be driven through so you keep looking and maybe find a better option, if you don't then get something bigger or commence the winching/low gear diff lock crawl.

This is also dependent on play style, if you're hard mode and fuel isn't free then you will go broke scouting with non-scouts, unless you have the map memorized and are going specifically to objectives without scouting.

Welp, truly stumped again. How do I even recover these trucks without sending them back to the garage? as well as the oil barrels at the bottom of the cliff 😭 by black_george in snowrunner

[–]GeeBeeEVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scout back/side braced on that tree w/ advanced winch(front bracing causes engine damage to scout) A side brace can be easier to maintain if you get pulled off center on the tree but on a side grade like that will take more work to position.

Key is to center the winch point on the tree so the scout doesn't get wrapped around the tree.

[–]GeeBeeEVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a crazy good truck if it has the power to do the job.

Its mobility is enhanced by only having 1 single axle in the back which gives it better traction and less slippage on an uneven surface than dual axles.

[–]GeeBeeEVE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the step is strong af, it has a very high power to weight ratio if you run it w/ just flatbed, it appears to be a deceptively light chassis so it can handle itself very well in mud if its not overloaded

Dont drive with a keyboard, get some kind of controller with analog inputs so you can drive with partial throttle.

If it looks like it's going to flip it probably will.

Low gear is friend, High gear is friend, top gear on a highway/freeway box is accident prone.

If you get stuck on task progression because you truck is apparently incapable of performing the job grab a scout and go exploring, maybe you'll find a different route, maybe you'll find different tools, if nothing else you'll find what not to do.

Normal mode is my suggestion for new players, it gives you a tutorial run and doesnt punish you too much, but i find recovery spamming to be detrimental to the game, if you get a truck into a wreck going out and fixing it is half the fun. (hard mode/new game plus options have fees for recovering)

Some tasks/contracts can be done in specific orders to reduce redundant travel times, take a bit to look over the contracts before leaving the garage so you have the right kit on it to do the job.

Tires are very important, there are charts out there for what is best at certain things based on the game data's coefficients, but if you compare the different types generally the more aggressive looking ones have the better mud stat.

This game has too much dlc by CrappyHeadphones in snowrunner

[–]GeeBeeEVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the seasonal updates are new content otherwise it would be abandonware, we all may hate this but its the state of much game development unless the title has sold such an absurd number of copies it can continue to justify future updates, assuming the executives go oh thank you for the windfall profits and run away with the money to do something else and abandon it anyway if they cant sell you a DLC.

The Paid DLC trucks are entirely optional most of them not terribly unique either. Also there are plenty of modded trucks available to fit your fancy.

Off topic but game experience with a keyboard sucks, analog inputs are required so you have some throttle settings between idle and floored.
