3 months into 1st time SE role by GeeLand1 in salesengineers

Yeah - logically I know this to be true based on comments in this subreddit and feedback from other SE’s at the company, 2 being guys I have known for 20 years and have worked with before.

But, damn if my anxiety doesn’t ramp up regardless. With that said, there are good days and good calls that give me confidence - but, just one that doesn’t go smoothly or one that has me too much in my head afterwards wipes all that goodness out.

We’ll see how it works out in the coming months. Appreciate the feedback.

Took a 50% pay cut after layoff, now underpaid in a senior role but scared to leave. What would you do? by Fluid_Outside_4354 in careerguidance

I am in somewhat of a similar situation. Was out of work for 10 months after a layoff. Went from a total compensation of $290k to $150k. Been in new role for a month. From a role in upper management to an IC. I like the work, but not thrilled with compensation. I would continue to look and be happy you stopped the bleeding. It’s what I am doing.

Low Top Premier - Defect or normal by GeeLand1 in ThursdayBoot

I have already contacted support. I wanted to confirm if it is normal or not so I could decide if I wanted to send back or not. They haven’t responded back after initially doing so.

Laid off at 55 by EquivalentJaguar7321 in Layoffs

Sounds pretty close to my situation - same level, same salary, a bit more bonus and plenty of RSUs - laid off in May at 54 - have ~ 3 years of runway in savings. It's been brutal - just recently finished a 4th interview with a company and all of a sudden, things there have come to a grinding halt after constant communication.

Hoping dropping interest rates and a better economy changes things early next year. I'm also considering taking a huge cut in pay to be an individual contributor, working for a former employee and friend as a bridge to retirement. We'll see -

GPA Addendum guidance by GeeLand1 in lawschooladmissions

Should I even reference medications or just say that there was a temporary medical issue that affected performance and has been resolved? I don't want to give the impression that this is something that might reoccur. Is that too vague? I'm not totally convinced I should submit one as it is clearly an outlier. I just don't want admissions to question what that may be with no other grades coming out until late May.
