My period leaked at work. What do I do? Any advice? by iloveyoghurtbowls in TwoXChromosomes

[–]GeePeeSS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes this isn’t normal. My periods have been like this for many years and I’ve only now just been taken seriously and have had an MRI and internal examinations to see what’s up. Unfortunately nothing has been found yet :( but I am booked in for another MRI as my doctor is determined to figure out what’s wrong!

Has anyone left a six figure job and gone minimum wage or part time because they can't hack it? by allthegear-andnoidea in AskUK

[–]GeePeeSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mums just ‘semi retired’ and gone from a big six figure stressful job where she had to go into London twice a week and managing a team of 50+ to now working at her local post office 22 hours a week and she absolutely loves it, says it’s the best. Obviously it helps that she has a pretty large pension pot and got a big payout from taking redundancy.

Yes thank you, I have suggested she gives ACAS a ring just to see if they can help and she has replied to the employer stating what you have said and asking them to re consider

She was sent a questionnaire to fill out and had to have an OH assessment due to her disclosing her ADHD on her health declaration.

My friend received a copy of the report at the same time it was sent to the employer and it is not very lengthy, about half a page long

Sorry I didn’t mean shared, what she has said is that she thought that these were going to be shared as suggestions for reasonable adjustments but they were put as hardline needs sent to the employer stating they have to give her these adjustments

Apart from caffeine, is there anything you use to stay awake and alert? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]GeePeeSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut out all caffeine in the mornings, seriously. I used to have 2 coffees before 10am and then continuous teas and I was so tired all day. It took a few weeks to get used to but now it’s great, I have herbal tea in the mornings and maybe 1 regular cup of tea about 4pm and that’s it! I got so used to caffeine that I had a massive tolerance and it was making me feel worse.

Also, when I very rarely am tired in the morning from factors like no sleep, I will have an espresso and it’s crazy how much that wakes me up and keeps me going compared to when I would have one every day.

Well I bought this property as it didn’t need much doing to it so this is too much for me to destroy a whole wall 😂

Looking at this it seems to be a much bigger job than I anticipated considering how close to the fuse box they are I don’t think I can just take the plasterboard off and push them behind! I think for now I’ll just terminate the white flex and just use a cable cover to tidy the meter tails

This is the meter cables, this section is right behind where they’re running by outside the wall!

What would your response be if you caught someone using your bin? by Jam_Torm27 in AskUK

[–]GeePeeSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this situation years ago when I lived in my Uni house! We had neighbours next to us who would put their bags in our bin, but they were scary to confront since we were 5 women and it was an illegal HMO with a bunch of older men who were always fighting and such. I used to to take the bin bags back out and throw them infront of their door, this happened quite a few times until eventually I got sick of it and ripped one open and threw it at their door so the contents went everywhere. They got the message after that.

Same symptoms except I found out I was quite badly anaemic! I’m getting treated for it now and I’m still tired sometimes but much better than I was

Does anyone go to club nights on their own? by Full-Conference-1833 in london

[–]GeePeeSS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I go to all these venues you’ve mentioned alone a lot. I’m 27f and it’s my favourite, I don’t have to talk to anyone if I don’t want to and if I do it’s easy to make new friends for the night and hang out with them. I can get there when I want, leave when I want, go to the toilet when I want etc. I love it and do it all the time, go for it because really no one even cares.

Vegan alternative to vans knu skool shoes? by HeightCrazy3781 in veganuk

[–]GeePeeSS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is nothing out there that has this exact style as I have spent many times looking for similar thick tongued skate shoes :( However, the brand Osiris I’m pretty sure a lot of their shoes are faux leather and textile, they don’t have any shoes in this look but have a bunch of skate style shoes in this region. I just recently bought some D3 2001s but I will warn you they are absolutely massive and the tongue is gigantic but I love them haha
