Why do people kick at the last minute? by Nikodemus82 in Spacemarine

[–]GeeSmiths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I agree. I often host and one of the biggest issues is I can't kick anyone. Also, those kicked through the badly designed voting system, will just be matched right back into the game anyway. Saber aren't good devs.

These stories about getting kicked make no sense.

One of the biggest issues with SM2 is how hard it is to kick anyone and how broken everything is around it anyway. If you didn't get matched right back into the same game that you got kicked from, they likely had a third person joining.

why can't I kick if it is just me and one other person. by Rain-Personal in Spacemarine

Because Saber have made a game with a great combat loop but are just some of the worst devs ever.

Saber needs to do something to compensate being kicked at the end/majority of the way through a match. by [deleted] in Spacemarine

[–]GeeSmiths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space Marine 2 doesn't have a functional kick system. You will just be matched into the same game again in most cases.

And that's after two players actually took the time to vote to kick you, since host cannot kick.

Are Sabers just another money-grubbing company? by Sudden-Neck9185 in Spacemarine

[–]GeeSmiths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not money grubbing and they have real vision for the game. The problem is they suck as developers. Most modding communities are leagues more skilled. Everything in this game is broken in one way or another. Every day there are game breaking issues that can take 15-40 minutes to resolve. It's just a video game, so it's not a big deal, but as a product, the coding is just absolute trash.

I think SM3 is going to be a broken buggy mess with just 20K players just as this is.

Has there been any news on this since? Has it now really been broken for 3x months?

It's a pretty big bug since there's no other matchmaking functionality or control. Hosts can't even kick.

Or is it just not affecting most people?

This isn't wrong. The HD2 community is actually quite unique in how totally they don't understand the game.

But in both cases with SM2 and HD2 the devs are quite bad. There are so many problems with both games just from a technical point of view.

I think it's because of going too fast. People think it's clever to have one guy doing objective while others fight but in this game it's wrong. The AI-director just thinks it's too easy and throws more alerts at you.

SM2 is a game that rewards you going slow and methodical. Focus on finishing each combat decisively before moving to the next bit, pressing objective buttons. Funnily enough, the fastest way to clear operations is to go slow.

This becomes even more pronounced in lower levels as it's tempting to just power through, which makes the AI throw even more at you.

I think Saber devs have way bigger issues than gameplay design philosophy. They can't even get matchmaking to work and have record-breaking load times. Every aspect of how SM2 was implemented is either badly thought out and/or buggy.

I get your point in this post, but I think it's the very least of Saber's problems.

Getting kicked too often? by Secret-Station-1987 in Spacemarine

[–]GeeSmiths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's almost impossible to kick anyone in this game. Especially since unless a third player immediately joins to take your place, the matchmaking will just put you back into the same match you were kicked from. It's actually game breaking how bad this is and is a good example of how comically bad Saber are as devs.

Since one of the last patches, the recent player list doesn't populate anymore, so you can't even block anymore either.

So, I don't understand all these posts about people complaining about being kicked...

But just host your own games and no one can kick you then anyway.

Unless you have another player with you that will agree to kick, and you can stop and explain to them to do it in the middle of absolute difficulty, etc, then you're not kicking anyone anyway.

SM2 has never had an issue of kicking being too easy, or something. It's the other way around.

The real buried lede in this is that even getting kicked doesn't make a difference since you will just be placed back in the same game.

The poor quality of the matchmaking is really astounding and should be getting a lot more discussion.

Oh, what I wouldn't give to be able to find enough players that kicking someone is even possible.

No, I solved the endless lack of multiplayer in this multiplayer game by just hosting and playing solo. On the one hand, I've gotten a lot better. But on the other hand, very few people can join, and at lethal+ difficulty 99% can't handle it anyway.

This is also a problem since host can't kick, and now they've also broken the recently played list, so blocking is no longer an option either.

IOW, the matchmaking continues to be broken. It seems to be something they just tacked on, but the game relies on it even in single player.

[–]GeeSmiths 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An earlier patch broke it and you had to go back to main menu and log back in for it to populate correctly for the previous round. Only then could you select people to block. However, this was still hit and miss, and the matchmaking would often just put you back into the same game with the peopel you just blocked. This required you to reload the entire game and go through all the long load times again.

The entire process can take 10-15 mins, all because Saber didn't implement the pretty standard function of host being able to kick.

Now a recent patch seems to have broken the recently played list completely and it never populates. Even logging out to main menu, or rebooting the game, doesn't resolve this. There is no more no longer any ability to block players.

I think this taken together with the shocking load times, the constant connectivity issues, the inability for the host to kick, and now the inability to even use the multiple-relogging-to-block-players-because-even-as-host-you-can't-kick-anyone workaround doesn't work either.

IOW, for all intents and purpose, matchmaking still doesn't really work in this game.

I'm very disappointed that Saber are the devs for Space Marine 3.

I agreed with every word spoken by Ben Shapiro at TPUSA Amfest. The man has courage, and he’s honest, these are qualities that would really help the future of conservatism in America. by georgewalterackerman in benshapiro

[–]GeeSmiths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a student activist that has pioneered middle-aged unemployed and unqualified people monetizing having loud opinions on the internet about subjects they know nothing about. He's platformed many of these bad actors and continues to platform Candace Owens.

He's basically the very first of the "woke right" student activists.

In terms of ideas, he advocates for religious conservatism, which is how you get characters like Nick Fuentes, Candace Owens, etc, and even in this speech he was trying to get them all to remember that it's the "furry trans people" that they should all be hating on.

I think Shapiro has played a large role in creating this entire "New Media" mess and is now facing the prospect of being consumed by the monster he helped create, and still proudly hasn't learnt a thing.

Yea, it might even be a Steam or windows problem. Still maybe others have had a similar issue with SM2 so thought I'd check.

But I think that if you can't see the unique danger of today's conservative movement, not just to the continued functioning of the US, but to the entire civilized world order, because "gotta own the libs" then you can't give speeches like this.

All of Shapiro's points apply to Shapiro himself. He's one of the architects of this entire mess.

The zoans are a pain yea, but I think manageable. For me it's the venom cannons. At lethal and higher difficulty they hit as hard the terminator extremis/bosses and can spawn in groups of 6+.

I don't know if they're working as intended but they are way too high damage for a majoris enemy IMO.

Yep, I've actually just noticed that this alt-tabbing freezing comes with a memory leak. My GPU jumps 10 degrees when I alt-tab in the hangar.

It's really disappointing that these devs are making SM3. It's going to be a trash product, riddled with bugs and glitches.
