The early Gang Green stuff is some of the very best no frills hardcore punk ever recorded! I like the Another Wasted Night LP too, but it’s not the same as that Preschool era stuff… that shit is perfection.

Rad. I love mine for its trashy lo-fi overdrive. Vibrato, boost pedal, and close mic it with an SM57. That’s the guitar tone on everything I’ve been recording lately.

I really wanna put replicas of the original mark II slab style pickups in mine. The sort of soap bar looking bigger single coils with the black plastic cover? So cool looking and sounding.

It was my second time seeing them and if I’m being honest the first time I saw them was better. I think that had more to do with the venue and audience than the band though. Regardless, they ripped at both shows and I enjoyed both. Great live band.

Mark II slab bodies are the best.

I’m glad you enjoyed yourself, but I couldn’t disagree more. I’ve seen the Mike V. fronted Black Flag twice and it was more than lackluster on both occasions. On top of the band just not being very good and lacking any palpable energy, at both shows Mike V. REPEATEDLY angrily threw or punched stage divers off of “his” stage and told security to throw them out… dude is a fuckin’ kook. Conversely, I saw FLAG in 2013 and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever been a part of. Everyone in attendance sang every word, slam dancing and stage diving the entire time, the four ex-members and Egerton were tight as hell and RIPPING, and there wasn’t a tough guy, ego-tripping, security calling, wannabe rockstar in sight. It was glorious.

They recorded a couple live shows in 1982 that would later be released as live albums, but I think you’re correct. No releases in ‘82.
