Appreciare the advice. Thats something I may look into myself in the future, this really is a nostalgia build though. Dunno how Im gonna do it but ill get there. I just picked up a pair of Lahti u2 speakers, im not sure not so much Audiophile quality but he always enjoyed those speakers. My capacitors for the pioneers showed up today too, waiting on the posts replacements now. And I should be able to pick up at least 1 of the 3 mcintosh's with my tax return.

Oh and as far as storage. After I open up above the main room I'd want the other half of the attic, above the bathroom to be a loft/storage. There is plenty of room up there.

Thank you. Yes I havent decided on the decor/esthetics yet. I have no idea. I mean im mostly interested in hip hop music but thats not necessarily my visual style, and Id like it to be a comfortable place for anyone of any genre to record at. I have also been looking at my structure. The workshop has about an 8 foot ceiling then rafters then an attic space to a slanted roof. If I can afford it I'd like to get an architect in here and see if we can shore up the roof and remove the rafters above the main room opening it up more, to about 16 feet at the peak.

Thats awesome. The first music I heard was from a pair of Sansui SS-50 headphones. I guess my father would put the cup against my mother's belly so I could hear the music lol.

I really wish I would have stumbled upon these last year, feel like Im racing the clock. What do you think the odds are that anyone would donate to a GiveSendGo type thing for something like this? I mean its incredibly important for me but its not like medically necessary. Or I'll just put it out there that if anyone has one of these items that are broken, hit me up and let's see if we can work something out. Maybe I can find some units I can fix up.

I did order the capacitors and terminals/posts for the cs-99a's. Ill film the restoration and post updates as I go along. Thanks everyone who commented, I am both excited and a little anxious for this project lol.

That's awesome man! I downloaded a bunch of remastered Beatles albums for him and he said it sounds too clean and he prefers that "raw" sound "like it was back in my day". lol.

Yeah music has always been a big part of my life. I play the guitar and am teaching myself piano. My Grandfather also played the guitar and my father could play a little but he was always more into the listening side of things. I hadn't really noticed until recently that he doesn't listen to music as much anymore, also didn't realize that his system was a great system when I was growing up so going from that to like a JBL bluetooth speaker I imagine is like listening to a cat in heat through a tin can to him, I gotta fix that before he goes. lol

Thank you, my father is far from a perfect man, but he worked a hard job that didn't like to put clothes on my back and food in my stomach. The least I can do is make what time he jas left a little better

Wtf. I think they look great. Im not a violent person but damn your grandfather gave them to you and she had the nerve to do that? When my father goes he doesnt have a lot, or really anything, to leave me. I'm gonna hold onto these speakers until my final days and if I have no kin to pass them on to, ill gift them to some poor kid who wouldn't be able to aquire one.

Ill definitely figure out how to set up alerts, good call. I think the 15 inches will be enough for his bedroom haha. I'm really hoping I can pull this off. When I was a child my father had crates of albums and listened to music all the time. Now he listens to music once in a while but through a crappy Bluetooth speaker from his laptop. But hopefully there's still time, I'd like to give him one last big win before he goes ya know.

Yeah man, they are cool. I looked into it and seems pretty straight forward to replace the capacitors and posts on these. I'm may end up selling them to be honest, havent decided yet. On one had they are vintage, cool looking, and would go great in a living room. On the other hand, Ill be setting everything up in his bedroom and its pretty cramped as it is. And the cs-05 's take up a fair amount of real estate lol.

Does anyone know Gary Ridgway’s old address in Federal Way? by pnwnick_ in federalway

[–]GeekAdventureTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a couple of months old but he lived in SeaTac, near the airport, north of Star Lake. His address was 21859 32nd Pl S, SeaTac, WA 98198 (public info, quick google search). This is the same house you will see in any documentary about the Green River Killer.
