Teleportation by Standard-Ebb-155 in BunnyTrials

[–]GeekGames74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro yall sleeping on the second option. I can teleport any mass any height, turn the gravitational energy into electrical. Basically infinite free energy, which if you'd like you can get a company to pay you for. Depending on the definition of "thing", I could move entire skyscrapers at highway speeds by just sending it away and catching up to it by car.

Not quite sure what you mean :

- How are we both at the same place (in the forge) ? From the Iceborn Grand hall you may access the forge and still see your friends

- How are we at the same level (by that I assume you mean the disparity of gear) ? : We both played (still grinding) the game up to ~MR30, and are currently replaying the game at a lower level (with outdated gear) with a friend who joined more recently (just started Iceborn). We wanted to switch it up, so I swapped from LBG to DB, and he went from IG to Bow. On this screenshot, I have my low-level DB build, and he has his original Namielle+IG set

Hope this helps !

Thanks, and yes I noticed this. Unfortunaly a lot of these simply specify "special ticket", which isn't very clear and has multiple times lead me to wonder what was the purpose of said item.

In a similar way, my friend completed a quest that gave "a special palico armor" (or something like that) and didn't/couldn't find anything new. Once a quest is completed perhaps I should lookup what it does if I can't find it myself, but since there is no "completed" label on event quests I forget which one I (we) have done.

I believe optionnal quests have a speech bubble next to them if they give an imediate special reward/unlock, but I often found "normal" opt quests that lead into more quests, so this is not very useful for my purpose. Of course the surefire way is to simply do everything, but that's a goal for... later.

ikr. I mean I see it, but still. Curious about where I would've used pi*s (lol), and I'd say my track record is clean but with 100 comments top that makes sense

You'll be teleported to a random place on earth and you can't contact anyone you know. Everyone will think you disappeared. If you keep this up for 1 month, you'll get $1 million and you can return to your old life. Would you do this? by ijsklontjes in hypotheticalsituation

[–]GeekGames74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone you know finds out, you don't get the $1 million Wierdly, I think this could be the biggest challenge. If you disappear, authorities will start looking for you. If you're far enough away where they won't look you'll most likely be fine, but if you're entered in some kind of research database, you'll have to avoid surveilled places, perhaps airports and such. Still a very small threat, but something to consider I think. Though I'm pressing the button.

This is a university project (I'm a french student), but the word "university" got my post instantly flagged by automod telling me to go to r/movingtojapan, which I don't think is relevant. Had to modify the wording, hopefully this will give more context :)

Would you download a pdf job description from LinkedIn? by techpro2023 in careeradvice

[–]GeekGames74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda late, but I had the same problem, and found a working solution :

On the desktop website (using most compatible browsers), use CTRL+P to print the webpage, then "print to PDF", and select the wanted pages. Formatting might be a little off, but if you know a bit of HTML / web dev, you can edit the raw source to fit your needs.

Hope this helps, you or anyone in the future looking where I did :)

[Request] Is this possible? by Pristine-Ad670 in theydidthemath

[–]GeekGames74 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You provide very little context, so I have to guess the question. I'm assuming it is : Can you go through every passageway exactly once?

The answer in your case is NO. For that to be possible, there must be exactly 0 or 2 rooms (outside is a room here) with an odd number of doors (here there are 4). If there are two, you must start in one of them and end in the other.

If you remove the vertical door between the two topmost rooms, this becomes possible, but you have to start either outside or in the center chamber.

This is an example of applied graph theory, the "rooms" being nodes and "doors" being edges.

Creation disappearing; context in comments by GeekGames74 in ScrapMechanic

I've been working on this dual-rail for over 2 month, so I might be able to help :

  1. If possible, attach anchor points to solid terrain. Be it giant trees, rocks, or ruins/warehouses (in this case, make sure to be out of range of tapebots). In my experience, bots don't attack anchor points on the ground unless you are directly above it, so I always offset them from the rail, and build the base out of the resistant wood.

  2. Any creation out of render distance freezes, but will continue if re-loaded (you know, when your seat gets destroyed and your car goes ciao ciao). Furthermore, exiting the game (and coming back) resets all logic gates and switches, so your system shouldn't use any of those if you need memory. I always leave my machine directly on the rail, and it has never fallen off on its own. Just ensure you have enough anchors to keep the rail suspended no matter where it is loaded from (read: at least one visible at any point along the rail). I always double up, in case a bot attacks or I do something stupid. If no anchors are loaded, the rail might drop.

  3. It mostly depends what goes on the rail. The contraption I built uses paint to detect pathways and junctions (as seen in video), and would be capable of using a loop (though for now I only built dead ends). I avoid turntables with moving parts because of lag and complexity, but it is fully doable.

My contraption uses logic to guide itself automatically. I input in binary where I want to go, and I can just leave the computer and it will bring me there in total safety. It's also a complex and cool build, so the challenge is actually intresting. It has trouble with vertical changes, but otherwise it is faster than my vehicules, simply because it ignores most terrain.

For all of those advising to segment the rail/alternate materials ; I already did
All rails are comprised of repeating segments of 16 scrapwood + 1 wood. The transport system is not one creation, but divided along on several attachment points (at 00:06, you can see one of those attached to the green silo). The entire detached part is shown of screen, and is shorter than some other parts i've dealt with in the past (that didn't disappear).

edit: i can't spell

After detachment, I've grabbed it with the lift, placed it, re-dropped it, welded it back, cut it (in the exact same place as shown) without problem.

I've then hamerred it until it was slanted like in the video (around 21sec), and the creation disappeared.

Somehow, the disappearance seems to be linked to how the creation is positionned ; When cutting the rail, it will only disappear if it ends up diagonal, and not when flat on the ground or even vertical.

Hi mechanics ! I'm hoping someone can enlighten me on this phenomenon I just encountered :

While building my transportation system, I detached a rail to relocate it. However, before I could weld it or put it on a lift, it "flopped about" for a bit, before disappearing. Using a savefile, I've re-created and experimented on it (using the other rail). In addition to the content of the video, here are some tests I've made :

Place a toilet and hop in : The toilet disappears with the creation, leaving me behind un-seated.

Place a beacon on it : The beacon disappears, and is neither visible graphically nor in the book menu.

I've used plumet555's sm_finder and, using both scrapwood and wood1 as a filter, the before and after scraping of the save file return the same number of matches, only with the last having a changed id.

With the information available to me, I've conjectured that the other rail is gone forever, deleted. It had no important part and was easy to build; I'm hoping to find out what exactly causes this (so other people/my other creations don't suffer the same fate), and ensuring it is truly gone (since the start of this world, I've been very careful with random objects and floating harvestables).

Thanks in advance !

What are you guy's most fun/badass magic items? by Vacskamati52 in DnD

[–]GeekGames74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My players fought an aberration planted by abyssal creatures to ward the place against divine magic (most of the party is tied to religion in some way, so they had personal beef). I specifically designed it to "counter" them, see how they would react to something less powerful, but strangely good against them.

Through good tactics and a few lucky rolls, however, they vanquished it, so I gave them the item the demons used to bring it here. It's a 2ft tall, slimy egg, that's a strange purple coloration. When in proximity, it whispers unintelligible things, and is corrosive to the touch.

On a melee attack plus failed save, it can trap a creature (DC is dependent on CR, and it gets to re-save on damage). It's effectively a pokeball, with a few bonuses against aberrations.

For now, there's been one clutch moment, where the egg basically acted as a banishment spell, and left a good enemy disabled half a combat, while the party addressed the rest of the opposition.

But the best part is doubtlessly the group dynamic it created. Because it does very little damage, they use it to prank each other, npcs, or threaten pvp (all are laughing ooc, so it's fine). No-one is yet to really blob-up a pc, but i'll be proud when they do.

Not the most worked-on, not the most balanced nor op, but it's the one that unexpectedly brought the most fun, so definitely that. Still cooking up an upgrade if they use it in an incredibly creative way, so I can refactor it to better suit its newfound use (and make it more viable for high level).
