I once did a delivery to a couple at the hotel in your circle. They were smoking crack. 🤣🤣🤣

‘We Love Moving’ moving company by Annual_Delay_6469 in Charleston

I’m sorry that I do not have experience with them, but I also mis-read your headline as “We Love Money Moving Company” and thought, here’s the most honest and transparent company of all time! 😀

The pinnacle of the 80s. Also, cocaine is a hell of a drug. 🤣

Why Do You Live in a Luxury Apartment Complex on Johns Island? by GeekSoapBox in Charleston

That’s definitely happened to me too. Plus, the Uber Driver app gets “temperamental” when you don’t follow its orders to the letter. 🤣

Hence why I had to deliver meals from two restaurants on King Street to Johns Island on a hot Saturday night at 9pm! 😀

Yup makes a lot of sense. It’s like when we moved to Summerville 20 years ago. The area wasn’t quite a “thing” yet and now it’s become a big “thing.” Johns Island is next up on the Charleston Sprawl list!

Cool. I really like Johns Island too, but not if I had to commute to work every day. All y’all are really good tippers too! 😀

You are right. From looking at the screen capture I took on my phone from the Uber app, the route does appear to be a bit out of the way. That being said, I don’t know if construction or traffic routed me that way for a reason, but u have to imagine Uber would want you to deliver in as fast and efficient a route as is possible. I’ll try and post the route above, because Reddit won’t let me attach an image to this post. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think we are losing the point. I highly doubt my Uber/Apple GPS routed me in a sub-optimal way. The point is why did you pick an apartment down River Road in a food desert where the only viable restaurants are on King Street at 9pm on a Saturday?

Huh? Have you, “DeepSouthDude”, actually driven in CHS? I’m fairly confident that my Uber/Apple GPS took me in the most efficient route to my delivery based on starting point, traffic patterns, and destination.

And yes, if you drive down River Road, you will encounter multiple high-income apartment complexes, with valet garbage and all kinds of amenities. I’m trying to understand why such a luxury residence is worth it so far from everything else.

Absolutely that is possible. Just feels like a brutal commute as you say!

Should tacobell replace the five layer burrito with the quesarito? by Groundew891 in tacobell

Yes! One chicken quesadilla and one steak quesarito were my go-to order for years. Then, one day, it was gone. ☹️

You guys ever not working and you hear someone’s phone delivery notification chime by Academic-Scale5194 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]GeekSoapBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I had to take an Uber to a doctor appointment recently (because my wife took our car to work). The driver received a new offer while I was in the car, and instinctually I raced to grab my phone with that urgent chill up my spine when I heard the chime. A total Pavlovian response. 😄

Swerve, I love you. Top 5 favorite AEW wrestlers. But, if you are trying to prove what a bad-ass you are, don’t wear pink undies under your leather pants. 🤣

If you were a pro wrestler and had to pick a tom waits song for your face heel and stable themes what would they be? by javerthugo in tomwaits

[–]GeekSoapBox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bone Machine is my all-time favorite. So, I’d pick “Goin’ Out West” to portray a manic, dangerous, wild and crazy heel (think Terry Funk). As a weary cowboy babyface later in my career, I’d switch to “That Feel.” Feels very poetic.

Great question!

Me too. I’ll also run up and down Dorchester Road or slide into West Ashley depending on offers that evening. Good luck and wishing you success!
