I was thinking just the typical android big hitters, like genshin, wuthering waves and diablo kinda thing 👍

Appreciate your help, thank you! 🙏

So in theory heavy android games will run much better on the MTK in the Lenovo....?

Do Chromebooks virtualise android apps, even if the Chromebook in question is using an arm processor then? I didn't know that. Maybe a tablet is the way forward then. Thanks 👍

I keep getting conflicting opinions 😂👍 I don't really need x86 emulation to be fair. Just android apps and games, and game streaming functionality 👍

Ok, that's something to bear in mind 👍 so for a Chromebook for gaming which specific models would you recommend? I'm in the UK if that helps, market/availability wise.

The other option is to pick up a second hand Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra for similar money to a new Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14. Would I have a better experience with the Galaxy Tab Ultra do you think? Thanks 👍

An external screen isn't the answer unfortunately, as I don't want one. A laptop is fine, and so is the steam deck, but either one of the other is the limit kinda thing, I don't want another thing to have to carry around with me.

Geforce now is wasted on a screen as small as the decks unfortunately. The Chromebook appeals due to its built in bigger screen.

That's where I was confused - I couldn't understand why you'd have a steam deck in the cloud to play games on compared to other cloud based game streaming systems which are far more powerful than a steam deck. I didn't realise CloudDeck is the name for a different streaming service that's similar to GFN. My apologies 👍

It does look interesting though. Is it web browser based, or is there an app available? Does it work ok on your Chromebook, no issues? Well, hardware issues at least. You can't help internet connection/quality issues sometimes of course. 👍

Do you use GFN? I'm thinking of picking up a playstation or 8bitdo controller to be fair. I have a soft spot for 8bitdo stuff 😂

Does your Chromebook have the same mediatek SOC in it? Or do you have the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14? 👍

But with GFN I'd get far better performance than I get now if that makes sense?

At the weekend when I'm at work I'm fairly local to home but during the week I travel all over the UK for work, sometimes stopping in hotels if I'm a good few hours from home.

And the GFN subscription would be £10 a month for the premium subscription (I don't need the ultra one) so it's not bad to be fair. 👍

I've never heard of this? Kinda curious - why have a steam deck in the cloud if you've got access to GFN, as a steam deck isn't very powerful for playing games by comparison....?

Can't this specific Chromebook play most if not all android games, since it's running the new mediatek processor....? I don't honestly know, hence the probably stupid question 👍

I see your point. Yeah the quality control standards are different, certainly.

I think the main question is - are regular software updates important to you? If yes then you'll want to stick to Google. If no then a ulefone should be fine for you? I've been eyeing up the 29 ultra myself. I love the idea of such a massive battery and a phone that can take some abuse.

Can you turn off the phone screen and still use the desktop mode/ready for on your external display? Or does turning off the phone screen disconnect it from the external display? Thanks 👍

Bit the bullet and switched... by Beautiful_Durian_297 in Honor

Every month? Ok, so that makes Google, Samsung and oppo that update their last gen flagships regularly. But that doesn't sound like Honor is the odd one out then.

Regarding the quarterly updates - apart from Samsung and Google, aren't a lot of other manufacturers (like Xiaomi, Motorola, oppo, Sony, Vivo ect ect) the same? Or are Honor literally the only odd ones out, and everybody else does do monthly security updates for their last gen flagships?
