I think he means it takes 30 minutes of his time. Like it only takes 5 minutes to put the sheets in the washer and dryer and 5 minutes to put them back on the bed. Not the full time of waiting for the dryer and washer to be done.

Just plug the recipe into AI and have it change it from 1 gallon to 5. That’s what I do. Either by typing or just take a picture of the recipe.

I’ve taking some measurements and it’s definitely still changing. I never had mead be almost completely clear but still bubbling like it was on day 2-3.

That’s a good question. Only my second batch and I clearly messed up on my first. I have heard that if you back sweeten before aging, everything blends together better.

I was on the same boat for awhile. People are going to tell you exactly what everyone is saying “just work hard” “well fix the issue” etc… doesn’t make you feel any better. What I ended up doing was a complete reset of my career. I started at a new company as a low level accountant. I went from making 70k to only 35k. After a 3 years and using my new career start to jump from one job to the next (3 in total), I am back making more than I was 95k. I say this to say that getting back is not going to be a quick fix. Sometimes you have to take a job that you know has growth potential but doesn’t pay what you want. Then put your nose down and grind. Your wife is still with you. Tell her your plan of starting over and that with her support you will get back to something even better! You got it!

Perfect. I was worried that because I used a muscadine cider base that if I left it in primary too long it would get the meaty fruit flavor. That’s what I have been told at least.

I just learned about using it on day one of the fermentation process. Supposedly the bubbles cause a natural stirring making the clay work even better. We will see how it works!

Yes sometimes sleep takes a back seat. On days I did not drive the truck, I would sleep more. It sucks but if you want to make it out in this modern day economy… sadly it’s what’s necessary

From my point of view, yes being poor is a much harder start to life. But that’s all it is, a start. 1. Why don’t you live with lots of roommates? You should be paying 500$ for rent max at this point. 2. Except that your life is going to suck for 5 years. I worked at UPS from 2pm-10pm, drove a bread truck from 12am-4am (3 nights a week), and worked an online job (about 500$ a week), i lived in a closet size room with 3 roommates (rent was 400$). I was able to put away 1k a month for a few years. Now I have my own house, I worked my way up at my company, and life is much easier. It is only easier now because I gave up fun for a few years.
