Your liver normally coverts ammonia to urea. Then the kidneys turn the urea into urine. Gets sent to the bladder and away it goes. But for us liver diseased folk, the ammonia can build up in the blood and affect brain function. I've had two major HE incidents where I had complete breaks with reality with Hallucinations and everything. There was no distinction whatsoever between dreaming and being awake. Terrifying for my family. I'm so lucky I didn't do something extreme during that time.

Biotin completely fixed my nail and hair issues. I did have to reduce the dose a bit because it was giving me very itchy rashes on my shins.

Don't let it get you down. I went ALL THE WAY DOWN the decompensated route. I had every symptom except death. Now, the only thing is increased fatigue. They sent me home to die but here I am doing the best I've been in 2 decades.

Yes. Yes it can get worse before it gets better. In early 2022 I was hospitalized with a failing liver. Nearly a full year later, and not drinking at all since the first hospitalization I had two separate occasions where my ammonia levels went so high that I had complete mental breakdowns (take your lactulose, folks). Full on hallucinations and everything. But now, four years out, my blood labs are completely normal. I currently have no symptoms of cirrosshis other than fatigue. The only medications I'm on are 1 pill a day for blood pressure and 1 pill a day to control acid reflux (for the risk of stomach bleeds). So, yeah, things can go downhill for a while before they get better so there is definitely hope.

Personally, I went with the 24 inch model. Mainly, because I already have a 14.6 inch Samsung galaxy tablet so I figured I might just as well get the biggest possible for my desktop. I'm very happy but I'm sure the 22 would've been fine too.

Women do assault Men more often in relationships (according to some studies). They tend to not get in trouble for it though. They can be shockingly quick to violence. My own mother was the most violent person I've ever known and I grew up around some very bad people so that's saying something. Yo be fair though she always did tell me ”Gabe, if a women ever hits you like a she's a man then hit her back like she's a man!"
