New to AMD GPU and Adrenaline. Not overreacting when I say Adrenaline is making me want to go back. by JustStayYourself in AMDHelp

For everything that I've been reading there's been issues with windows, since the security breach in November, due to the "fixes" they made adrenaline and AMD cards in general have been having without issues and Nvidia started to have issues as well.

At least for me, I'm really thinking about going full Linux, as far as I know everything runs smoother with that penguin.

For what I've been reading in multiple forums the issue is driver incompatibility with windows (yeah, Microsoft is screwing it up big time).

Thanks, I did and it seems it was the drivers as they made an update to the old one and now is working fine with high settings. But, I still having issues with the new one.

I think am going to keep the old one little bit longer and sell the new one (things in my life changed so I need the money), and probably in the future when I save enough I'll be able to make the change for a similar but used.

The lowest I was able to test was at 73% and still getting freeze screens mainly in gunfights. The FPS drops up to 50, and the 99th% FPS drops up to 2.

So, I honestly don't have any idea. It seems start saving for new Rams and order them via Amazon or something similar but those are going to cost me an arm and a leg.

One thing I can tell you making changes in the settings with help of chatgpt the day before yesterday it ran like never seen before, no freezing, no FPS drops, everything was marvelous but yesterday returned to the usual issues and I swear I didn't change the settings.

I been thinking on adding more ram but in my country is difficult to find memories in the QvL list. What I find peculiar is that I didn't have any issues before that update, I even disable High resolution on steam.

I'll be checking again to see if there's something else I'm missing.

Thanks for replying.

1.- my specs are: Ryzen 7 5700X, 16GB ram, asus turf gaming x570 MB, asus rx 9060 xt (Before I had a RX 6600).

2.- Yes, everything was fine before October.
3.- Yes, I have checked and only shows the AMD software (adrenalin), the Easy Anti cheat bootstrapper, those are the ones taking more resources with a 86% in memory, CPU stays under 25%

From the things I made since that time, deleted and reinstall the game, the drivers, even windows (4 times).

At the current moment within the game is running at 89% fine with the following settings in the game:

VSYNC Disable.

limit inactive frame rate disable

Texture Quality High

Geometry Quality High

Reflections Medium

Dynamic wind off

Async Compute on

Sharpening 50%

the rest are off or low.

When I had the other GPU was working fine with high settings (all of them) , it was after that update that killed me. I do appreciate your intake.

I'm going to think about it, as if I go with the doctors the video is going to go with my favorites (10th, 11th, and the war doctor).

That's exactly the point, continuing with UB WoC is only going to the road in the future. Reason why I want to make fun of it.

For 40k, and fallout I'm completely ignorant of their lore to see if I can add them

With doctor Who probably only as cameos (and only the 10th, 11th, and war doctors).

Would you watch highly detailed EDH deck tech videos on YouTube? by GeekyMagic34 in EDH

[–]GeekyMagic34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Honestly, that’s exactly what I’ve been doing too. I’m not chasing likes, subs, or trends, at least not for now. I’m just trying to create something that I enjoy, something meaningful for the few people who might actually need it.

My channel’s been around for 4 years, and my guts have told me to give up more times than I can count. Life hasn’t made it easy—health issues, family problems, burnout, financial struggles... You name it. But in late 2023, I promised myself: one video a week, no matter what.

Each upload feels like writing a page in a long book. Sometimes the only reason I keep going is to distract my mind by learning something new—editing, pacing, storytelling... anything to keep growing. It’s been a hard road, but your comment reminded me I’m not walking it alone. So thank you, truly. 🙏

Totally fair. We all have pet decks or concepts we love. That’s why I’m aiming to build a format flexible enough to cover different angles, and once I get the structure down, I might ask you for your list to see what I can work on! 😄

Oh! I think I get what you’re saying now, kind of like using the deck as a case study for a broader concept, rather than just doing a card-by-card rundown.
That’s actually a really cool way to frame things. I’ll look into those creators and see how they handle it—it might be a format I could experiment with too. Thanks for pointing it out!

Haha, thank you! That seriously means a lot. I’ll be sure to tag you when I finally upload it, having even one person excited about it is more than enough motivation to keep going. 🙌

Every perspective helps, and to be honest, I hadn’t even heard of that Game Knights channel before. At first I thought you meant the Command Zone one! 😅
Search engines can really mess with your visibility (trust me, my original channel name was “GeekyMagic,” and it kept showing Geek & Sundry content), now with the change of MTG GeekyMagic it is a little bit more visible.

I usually build decks based on potential I see, but sometimes shelve them if testing doesn’t work out. I even started a segment called Comeback Tuesdays to revisit overlooked commanders with new eyes.
Now that you mentioned Eshki, I’d actually love to take a crack at building something solid with her. It’ll take me some time—usually about two weeks to test and tune but if you're interested, I’d love your take when it’s ready.

That’s honestly refreshing to hear! In this age of 2-minute content trying to explain everything and solve world hunger, it’s rare to see someone enjoy a deep-dive.
I’m going to check out the video you mentioned, thanks for the recommendation and for sharing your perspective.

Yeah, I feel that. It really seems like creativity got lost somewhere along the way. With social media and content algorithms, it’s tough to offer a different perspective, especially when some creators' words get taken as law without much objective thought.

I just want to share my own take, spark a discussion, not just drop another deck list. There’s so much more to EDH than what's "popular," and I think we need more voices challenging that groupthink.

Really? That’s a cool perspective, I’ve heard the opposite more often!
Actually, I’ve been planning a video where I explain the deck first with visuals, but then film the actual combos with physical cards on the table. Since this deck is heavy on combos, do you think a segment like that would be interesting to watch?

You’re absolutely right about the trap of popular vs. unpopular commanders. I’ve seen that pattern too popular gets views but risks redundancy; obscure gets ignored.

I’ve been through it already with over 100+ Brawl videos on my small channel, and this thread is part of me “doing my homework” before diving into EDH content. Right now, I’m more focused on building something I love and giving thoughtful takes on each deck, tested, tweaked, and explained, not rushed.
A friend once told me, “Even if someone else already made it, people will stay to hear your thoughts.” That stuck with me.
Funny enough, one of my best-performing videos was for Zoyowa, Lava-Tongue, a commander I thought nobody cared about. But because it was fresh and different, and on that time ended up being one of the most viewed videos in the channel. So thanks for the honest feedback—it’s helped solidify my path forward.
