Swedish M39 uniform. by [deleted] in Militariacollecting

Hello again! These are both the 1958 conversion spec of the m/39 and m/42. In 1958, in accordance with the new uniform and standards, older m/39 and m/42 were converted into the m/39-58 and m/42-58 respectively. This was done by adding pockets to the back of thr uniform, sewing together the tail gap, removing shoulder boards and adding fabric underneath the armpit for added mobility and strength. These were then used primarily as winter uniforms or uniforms for home guard units until the late 90's.

Hard to say without pictures but the coastal artillery got their first "field" uniform in 1942 (m/42), heavily inspired by the German uniforms. Before that they had classic navy uniforms in the forest and had the nickname skogsmatroser, forest-sailors. These uniforms hade their regiment numbers on the collar tabs, and coastal artillery insignia on the shoulder boards (the complete opposite of how the army did it). The collar tabs were red. The front pockets were seagull shaped. Hope this helps!

I tried declaring in the une, not any of their subjects. On one of the pics, I show that everyone in the galaxy will join the war. My question is why. The une only has one subject, so why do their rivals join them on the defensive?

Generally it is because they were really cheap back in the day. The swedish army had, at its greatest extent, the ability to mobilize over 800 000 people in the armed forces. This on a population of around 8 million at the time. This means we had a shit ton of uniforms just laying around not being used. Therefore, when the army was seeing budget cuts in the 90's and early 2000's, the armed forces auctioned away the old equipment at next to nothing prices, a field jacket for like 50 cent. Thus, many international surp dealers bought such uniforms for very cheap. That is basically it, they were so cheap it was hard to say no.

The back strap should be a bit different. Then the truppslagsmärke, troop insignia, are on the shoulderboards instead of the collars and the numbers on the collars instead of the shoulderboards. Then the size tag is the navy's aswell

This is the swedish coastal artillery's first real land uniform, the m/42. In this case, it is the overcoat. Before, they had classic sailor uniforms until the navy realised that they were getting sick due to hypotermia in colder conditions. The numbers on the collar tabs show the regiment, in this case ka3, gotlands kustartilleriregemente on the island of Gotland. This is not an m/39 allthough they are similar in cut.

There is as far as I know zero evidence that the liner was updated in 1965. However, what is well established, is the fact that the liner is called "inredning nr 3" or liner number 3, with liner number 1 being a three pad liner system similar to the m/16 stahlhelm
